Nice hotel with gorgeous view on Loch Maree, a little bit dated, but comforatble and clean though. Maybe would need some refreshing; But a convenient place to spend the night on a tour after the Bealach Na BA.

The hotel was okay, would say it was run down and more like a 2*.

The disappointing thing here was the prices which were more like 5*. A can of larger for a fiver and standard homemade dinners for close to £20.

Think theres much better value places out there.

In terms of the location was disappointed you couldn't walk round the loch at all from the hotel.

Thank you Loch Maree for a warm and comfortable stay with delicious meals - the haggis stuffed chicken was excellent. Plenty of safe parking for our bikes and the visit by the local wild deer was an unexpected treat. We were a group of 6 bikers enjoying the nearby glorious roads in the area's outstanding scenery and we hope to be back!

The Loch Maree hotel was our base for a lovely weekend taking in the Bealach Na Ba cycle sportive. From the moment we were greeted by the owners we were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. An early rise on the Saturday morning was accommodated and a wholesome breakfast was provided.

Over the 2 night stay, our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the hotel, the location, the food and amazing scenery even with the wildlife coming up to the back door.

Room tip: the rear rooms have a brilliant view of loch maree

On the plus side this hotel has a great location on the side of the Loch.

On the minus side this hotel has not been renovated for decades. It is very tired and worn-out. The only thing that has been done in recent years is to install some double glazing. If you stay then you will experience going back to the bad old day's of British hotels.

Of particular note is the bathroom where the hot water tap is labelled cold and is so small it barely reaches the sink so it is hard to get your hand underneath. The shower curtain has been removed as well as the wall fixing for the shower head so you would have to sit in the bath to have a shower. But there is a notice telling you that the shower is only for hair? Just to make matters worse there is another notice informing you that they may run out of hot water in the mornings and if this happens then wait 30 minutes! Maybe if the owners let the guests have showers instead of insisting on baths, the hotel wouldn't run out of hot water!

To complete the time travel experience the TV only has three channels which are on analogue? This is quite impressive given that analogue TV was switched off nationally about 4 years ago! And finally to complete the 1970s bedroom experience there are complementary Worther's Originals sweets - those of you who are British reading this will appreciate that this is the most appropriate sweet to be offered.

The food on offer for dinner can only be described as expensive, unadventurous, student food from the 1970s. Breakfast is up to motorway service station standards.

The lounges and common areas are soulless. I've been to business hotels that are more exciting!

The Wi-Fi is patchy, we had more success with 4G. The poor broadband is used as an excuse to be asked to pay the night before you checkout as I suspect that they may have had a number of guests leaving early. The Cancellation Policy and leaving early charges feature promptly on your booking confirmation, so you can work that out for yourself.

The other reviews that are similar to this are spot on. Only stay at this hotel if there's nothing else available and you want to stay specify in this area. You have been warned!
