Just home from a long weekend in Fermanagh, Kinard is a great house for exploring Fermanagh.
Margaret was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
The house was very comfortable and has everything you would need, wish we had stayed longer! Our baby even slept the whole night when we were there!
Would definitely recommend to stay here and its a great base to see Fermanagh
My husband and I want to say a massive thank you to Margaret for letting us stay in her beautiful cottage. It is such a welcoming cottage with beautiful gardens and lovely patio set in the garden to sit and eat your food. We got a take away food from the Greek restaurant in enniskellen and took it back to the cottage to eat in the garden because it was such a beautiful day and the garden was so much more appealing than a restaurant. Margaret is such a kind and lovely lady. She had lovely pancakes there waiting on us when we arrived and milk and butter. We were late arriving and got lost on our way there. Margaret was in touch with us the whole time worried about us and came to meet us to lead us back to the cottage. She went above and beyond what she had to do out of the kindness of her own heart. We also asked her for information on the best place to hire a boat to sale the lakes and to go horse riding. She went out of her way to get us information. I have already been recommending her cottage to friends and family and we hope to come back soon with some friends of my husband to explore Fermanagh and her cottage is the only place we would want to stay.
Kinard Cottage is the perfect "Home" away when you are traveling! It is impeccably clean and cozy and you will want for nothing as Margaret has made sure every convenience is provided. From the moment we arrived with peat fire warming the sitting room and home made pancakes and tea ready to warm us in the kitchen we felt so welcome. The three bedrooms and more than ample space for meals and visiting made Kinard Cottage the perfect place for our "home" base while visiting family and exploring the North of Ireland. Margaret is the epitome of Irish warmth and hospitality and no words adequately describe the love and caring nature of this amazing woman!!! If you visit Kinard Cottage you will have the "luck of the Irish". We miss Margaret and the wonderful people of Lisbellaw.......can't wait to visit again!!
You couldn't find a more helpful and lovely person in Margaret, the wonderful lady who owns this most delightful cottage. She made sure she was on hand to show us around her house when we arrived after 9pm, had very kindly made us up the fire, which is always a homely touch and her homemade pancakes are delicious. This 2 storey detached bungalow, with a large private drive, has everything you could need, we've never cooked on an Aga before, but after the first go, we definately wanted one for ourselves. There are 2 large bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath, with a further ensuite bathroom upstairs. The bedrooms are all a good size, as are all the rooms, it was so nice siting in the kitchen eating breakfast next to the warm Aga, looking out at the birds in the garden. There is also a handy washing machine. The cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful area, with friendly neighbours The small village of Lisbellaw has all you could need, there is a Spar shop, 2 takeaways, a pharmacy, butchers and hardware store, all within 5/10 minutes walking Enniskillen is just 5 minutes drive away with larger supermarkets and a good town. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with plenty of places to visit. But as this was our first time to Ireland, we decided to go further afield and Belfast and Dublin are easy to get to both no more than 2 hours away. In fact we managed to go to the Giants Causeway, Donegal, Londonderry and go along part of the Wild Atlantic Way all within/up to 90 minutes drive there. All in all, Kinard Cottage is a little gem, as is it's owner, Margaret, who really can't do enough for you. We were all sorry to leave after 10 days, and can't wait to return one day.
