“A home from home”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is now the 4th time I have stayed at Jenny's cottage and it has never stopped impressing. Clean well appointed cottage that is close to the Brecon beacons, a short journey to Mumbles and South Wales coast. I love the new windows and well appointed kitchen. Would recommend this to anyone...

“FANTASTIC”

This 3 bedroom cottage in Blaenavon is beautifully presented and furnished. It is a sympathetically modernised former miner's cottage set on a steep hill. We arrived to find all the beds made, towels and soaps set out on each bed, fresh fruit and flowers in the living area, and tea, coffee, sugar, milk and welsh cakes left as a welcome. There was also a lovely bottle of wine with a handwritten note of welcome. The cottage is very comfortable, light and contemporary in style. The kitchen is well equipped and quite spacious. Each bedroom has an area for hanging clothes and a chest of drawers. There are ample power points throughout. The bathroom is large, with a good sized bath and separate shower cubicle. There is a small patio courtyard outdoor area with seating and a table.
Blaenavon is a World Heritage area and has much to offer those who interested in history. The owner of the cottage has provided information leaflets and maps of the area which was much appreciated.
The main street is literally a four minute walk away and features small local shops. There are at least four public houses in easy reach of the cottage and several takeaway restaurants, ranging from fish and chips, to chinese and indian cuisines. The Blaenavon cheese shop is a must!!!
Jenny's Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the area. Cwmbran, Newport and Abergevenny are in easy reach and Cardiff is only an hour away by car or train.
One word of warning: this cottage, alongside most properties in the area, is not suitable for those with mobility issues, as it is set on a steep hill, and accessed by very steep steps.
We thoroughly recommend Jenny's Cottage.

What a lovely cottage. Lots of room downstairs in dining/living room - it's bigger than it looks in photos. A well equipped modern kitchen. 3 lovely decorated rooms. A cute little garden. All clean and tidy. Lots of lovely extras like fresh fruit bowl, tea coffee and milk, fresh flowers, welsh cakes and even a bottle of champagne to celebrate my wedding! Excellent communication, would highly recommend!

From the moment we walked in, we felt at home! Nicely situated to accomodate all of our interests from hiking the rugged mountain trails to touring castles and historically significants sites! The Big Pit is just up the road and a must-see! We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen complete with washer! Jenny was a dream to work wth using email as well as phone!
