“House with a view...”
Reviewed 2 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Our 2nd stay at this property in upper solva. It has views to die for across St Bride's bay and it's only a short stroll to the stunning cliff top path or down into the harbour. Set in a historic part of solva the cottages across the lane will apparently feature in a forthcoming C4 screening of Under Milk Wood.

Wonderfully warm and comfortable this cottage was a great place to watch a couple of spectacular storms come in across the bay. It's also a lovely spot when the sun shines!

“Lovely position with fabulous views”
Reviewed 28 September 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We had a great week in this holiday home, helped enormously by blue skies and wall to wall sunshine every day. That aside, it was a lovely place to stay - the views from the living area are uninterrupted and amazing. Its position near the coastal path and short walk down to the pretty Solva harbour make it a great place to do some walking.

The bungalow itself is homely - don't expect chic and ultra modern. But it is comfortable, dog friendly and there is everything you need. There are some super beaches and terrific walking within easy reach and Solva itself has some good eating places (the Lavender Cafe our firm favourite for lunch or afternoon tea).

“One word for it...'idyllic!'”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed at Southwinds, Solva in April 2014. We had an absolutely wonderful week - sunshine, walking, surfing, boat trips, great food at the local pubs and 'the' most idyllic view. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but Southwinds was by far one of the best! Whichever room you are in - you have a view of the sea (sitting in bed having my morning cup of tea will never be quite the same!) We felt relaxed from the moment we stepped through the door.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Southwinds - thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage with us - we really couldn't have had a better week!

“Fabulous cottage with beautiful views”
Reviewed 28 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We managed to pick the one week of the year that Wales was put under a severe weather warning, however the cottage is absolutely fabulous. Southwinds is spacious and warm and has picturesque views from both the sun room and the main bedroom. The sun (on the one day it shone) streamed into the sun room and in the evenings the open fire was lovely.

There is plenty of space for four people (although we were actually only two) but there are lots of seats so you wouldn't feel on top of one another. The local village is pleasant and has several pubs and a few little shops and St. David's is only about 15 minutes away by car. You need to take some CDs and a decent torch (for the walk from the car in the evenings).

Wonderful cottage - we'd love to go back in the summer.

“Simply magical”
Reviewed 24 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I stayed at Southwinds with my husband and my sister for four nights. We had a totally wonderful time - once we figured out how to turn on the heating! The views are magical and the sun pours into the sunroom. We actually had several hours of blue skies when we managed to do some great walks. It was really well equipped and lots of space for the three of us. I don't think the photos do it justice. Every morning I got up to watch the sunrise from the sunroom. I could quite easily live here forever. Would have been nice to have been provided with the basics such as bread, butter etc but really since we came prepared it was no problem at all. Also, would have been nice to have had wifi, but we coped quite easily. If I come back to Wales, which I hopefully will, I would definitely rent it for a week.
