Very much enjoyed our weekday evening meal here whilst staying in the same village. Exceptionally tasty duck terrine starter (so good I felt moved to send compliments to the kitchen!) followed by a very good steak "pie". Pie in double quotes as it was in truth an enamel dish with a very tasty steak and ale filling (I'm not always entirely happy with meat and ale pie flavour but this was excellent) and a very good suet pastry lid served with excellent chips. Whilst I usually prefer a full pastry case I'll excuse this pie as the taste made up for that! Service was professional, friendly and helpful. We had a second, this time weekend evening, visit. Again very good quality and tasty burgers but very busy - strongly recommend booking. Service again very good.
