Peter and Betty many many thanks for helping to make our stay in the Exumas absolutely perfect. We kayaked, played in the most amazing water, ate fresh seafood almost every day, walked on unpopuled beaches, snorke

This location is pretty central so you have access to both ends of the island. Peter was wonderful and helped us set up all of our daily excursions while also providing a bit of history of the island. The studio is just perfect and is very comfortable - everything you need and nothing you don't need. We found it helpful to cook breakfast at the house in the mornings.

Must dos and sees on the island:
- Morning of kayaking on Hoopers Bay, kayaks provided at the house
- Spend a day at the beach just outside of Sandy Palms, you'll have it to yourselve
- Roberts Adentures: full day your to see iguanas, pigs, snorkeling lunch, sandbar in the middle of the ocean, beautiful beaches and the grotto.
- Car rental is available through Peter and worth it to see the island and explore. Just remember stay left ;)
- Little Exuma for beaches, Tropis of Cancer and lunch at Santannas is a must for lunch. So much food we skipped dinner.
- Day trip to the north to more beaches, lunch at Big D's Conch Spot. Fresh conch was caught right before we ate it. Stop at Exuma point for views and private beaches.
- Sunset at Catch a Fire. Just drinks menu is pricey.
- Dinner at LaFourchetre. Delicious meal and beautiful grounds. Food that made our tummies very happy.
- Lunch/Dinner at Shirleys. Food that makes your tummy happy.
- Star gazing on the beach right in front of Sandy Palms every night.
- The house is walking distance to liquor store, grocery (Smitteys) and a wonderful deli where you can get fresh rotisserie chicken and fresh crab salad. A place we visited a few times to have snacks at the house.

No complaints and 2 happy travelers a week later. Until next time...thanks Peter and Exuma for filling us up with everything we need to make it until summer.

Cheers,

Ginger and Guy

Our family (2 adults and 2 children, 7 and 11 years old) wanted to go to Exuma to relax and see the famous swimming pigs. We didn't know much about this Island but already in the first correspondance with Coral Gardens we got loads of information from Peter and Betty.
The excellent service coral Gardens provide is amazing. They ordered a taxi to pick us up in the airport. When we arrived Peter had bought groceries for us to make it through the rest of the Sunday since the shops was closed. He took time to show us (by car) the beach access, the Smittys convienient store and some of the best restaurants nearby.
The apartment was very nice for small families. Clean and quiet. There is a car available to rent at all times for a fair price and we did that twice to Explore the Island.
Coral Garden have plenty of good advices of things to do in your holiday.
The Hoopers Bay beach is the nearest and it takes about 15 minutes for kids to walk. A very nice beach with turtles passing frequently by.
We stayed for one week and had an absolutely fantastic holiday. We visited the Stocking Island, Georgetown, Tropic of Cancer Beach, Sandals, a lot of beautyfull small lagoons and of course the full day trip with the swimming pigs, the Thunderball grotto, the Iguanas and swimming with nurse sharks.
The Exuma Cays are a warm, sunny and most of all very friendly and absolutely safe place to go as a family with kids. We will be back!

Exuma isn't an easy place to find good accommodation at a reasonable price. There's Sandles ( if you don't want to see the island ) or some mid ranged, uninspiring small hotels. Coral Gardens offers a simple but charming place to base yourself, well located and has all you need for your stay.

The local beach is a hidden gem ( good luck spotting the turtles ), you can get into town in 5mins, and visit little exuma easily, which is well worth it by the way!

However, what we shall remember most, is our charming host, Peter. We arrived with ambitions to see plenty of the island - yet with no fixed plans, and Peter was nothing less than a superb concierge during our stay. Always conscious never to over impose, yet helpful, insightful and friendly, he appeared to genuinely care about our stay on Exuma, doing whatever he could to provide us with the information and the means to achieve our perfect Caribbean paradise holiday. Can't say thank you enough.

Highly recommend hiring a small boat from Minns for a day and sailing it over to Stocking Island. Have lunch at Chat n Chill - then find a remote beach or sand bar all to your self - just amazing.

We visited Coral gardens in December for a pre holiday trip. We had wanted to visit Exuma for a long time and this seemed like a perfect fit for us. Peter and Betty are incredible hosts. Our room was in immaculate condition and the views from the property are stunning. Peter served as a true ambassador to Exuma and made great recommendations and suggestions on how to spend our short time on the island. Being able to rent a car directly from Coral Gardens is a huge plus. It gave us access to areas of the island we otherwise may not have ventured to. Before we even left the island we decided that we were absolutely coming back.

It was so lovely to read about how much you enjoyed staying with us. We value all our guests as people & not room numbers so that they can make the most of their visit to Exuma.

Best wishes & thanks again.
