We have fallen in love Casuarina Point on Great Abaco! Abaco Palms are located about 25 minutes south of Marsh Harbor in a tranquil location with a beautiful beach. The water is azure yet full of sea life. We enjoyed the skiff, kayaks & paddleboard, yet found we enjoyed exploring the sandbars and shallows even more. Fishing in this area is excellent, even for the allusive bone fish.
Abaco Palms offers several homes, of which we stayed in Camp David for 9 nights. The house was thoughtfully designed with two master en-suites and a third bedroom with twins. The large great-room overlooked the beach with an amazing beachfront covered porch with ample seating, dining area & large hot tub.
The beach is clean with white powdery sand and the ocean is very shallow. We met other vacationers and locals on the beach each day. Even when windy, the ocean is not too rough due to the reef & shallow water. The beach is somewhat protected due to its shape/location.
Kathy is great to work with and truly wants your vacation to be the best. She provides many suggestions for restaurants, bars, attractions - even GPS coordinates for your hand-held to find the best reefs/beaches!
There are several Cays that are a short ferry ride from Marsh Harbor that make for great day-trips. However, we found ourselves glued to our own beach most days and enjoyed fishing and beachcombing.
Having been home from our vacation for a few days, we're already thinking of our next visit!
Staying at the Abaco Palms home was amazing. The beachfront home is spacious and fully equipped with everything you can think of. Just to name a few of the toys included are kayaks, paddleboards and a skiff. The beach is breathtaking and since The Casuarina Point community is very small and secluded, you have the beach almost to yourself with miles of walking.
The owner's have paid attention to detail in every way and their objective is your enjoyment. Can't wait to go back agin.
We LOVED Camp David! This property was definitely the highlight of our trip. There were so many amenities that we had no idea would be such a hit. The shallowness of the water is just glorious! Our grandkids grabbed the kayaks and paddle boards and headed out hundreds of yards. We knew they were safe and loved watching them taking it all in. My favorite thing to do on vacation is to go shelling. My granddaughter and I went every day. It was amazing! Our boys loved fishing and caught a handful of fish - one big enough for dinner! They also loved the hot tub! Especially the baby- he loved splashing his brothers and sister. The interior of the home was beyond my expectations. The beautiful quality of furniture, comfortable beds and four bathrooms!!! The kitchen was ideal and we ate dinner there almost every night. The owner, Kathy was amazing! We can't wait to take the rest of our grandkids back!
First of all, I would recommend this home to anyone. Everything you would need or want, Kathy had already thought of and it was there. We've stayed at many homes and this was, by far, one of the most beautiful ones. It doesn't hurt to have a four-mile beach behind the house either. The view from the house is absolutely spectacular. Thanks, Kathy, for being such a great hostess. We will be back!
I can't say enough wonderful things about Kathy who runs the coordination of booking. I'm so thankful I found her and Camp David! We had a five day/four night "ladies getaway" stay in December. The customer service was perfect from booking through leaving, I promise, no detail was left unattended. I do a lot of traveling and this was the best and most personal experience I've encountered.
The house itself was steps from the beach, extremely modern, and so comfortable! A big bonus for us was having the kayaks, paddle boards, and boat as we utilized all of them every day, all in great condition! We also utilized the hot tub and hammock every day, talk about relaxing! It felt like you had the beach to yourself, sure there are others out and about, but this is a friendly and low-key area to enjoy.
I hope we get to have another stay sometime in the near future :-)
