Idyllic location for anyone wanting safety plus peace and quiet with a view. Lovely condo in a prime beach location. We loved the architectural design of the development: each unit is super private and you’re not butted up against any other unit. That was perfect. We’ve travelled extensively throughout the Bahamas/Caribbean and this is one of the cleanest places we’ve found. What a treat!
On the downside, we’ve never stayed in a unit that required so many repairs. The deck has French door style screen doors but one side was broken. The ceiling fan in the living room was unusable and because it’s on the same circuit as the ceiling fan in the master bedroom, we couldn’t use it, either. The AC unit was missing its filter so maybe that’s why we couldn’t get the temp below 76F. The unit key did not work on the private side door that leads to the beach. We reported 9 lightbulbs out so the caretaker bought some for us and we changed them ourselves. The shower was a mere trickle and it took two days to get someone to bring us a replacement shower head — complete with the tools for us to do the work. The fridge is missing the glass shelf that sits on the vegetable crisper. The clocks on the stove and the microwave are both, oddly enough, running increasingly fast gaining several minutes each day.
There was no soap — not a problem if you’d been warned ahead of time which we were not. There are no beach chairs to take to the awesome beach outside and that’s a crying shame! The lovely deck needs some shade (umbrella?).
Hurricane damage in the vicinity is quite extensive so photos on website are VERY misleading which I file under questionable business practices. Ask for some current pix before you book if you need pristine grounds.
So: not recommended for folks who are unable to go with the flow and who need everything done for them. I do recommend for independent/adventurous travellers who can roll with the punches and who like to explore.
Unit would be simply outstanding with (regular) maintenance.
1 review This location is awesome...right on the beach and the beach is the best you will ever find. We stayed for a month and understood that Grand Bahamas was only three months after a hurricane so totally understood the change in the property landscape however some of the necessary items for a longer stay was not supplied until they were requested. What we requested should have already been supplied and a check list prior to new renters should be completed by the cleaning staff or whoever looks after the condo for the landlord. The most serious and annoying items were that the screens were in poor condition which had nothing to do with the hurricane. They should have been in perfect working order to keep out the annoying bugs of the carribean. My husband is allergic to the bugs so screens were high on our priority list...It took two weeks to get them repaired.....other items that we needed to request which should have already been supplied were beach chairs (the ad said there was five) the patio furniture shown in the ad was not there so new pictures need to be updated in the ad, instead round glass tables with four metals chairs and NO umbrella. There was no nice brown wicker brown chairs or table etc..only the orange lounger. The safe did not work, there was no blender as the ad stated and the DVD was not hooked up to work. The frying pans were unusable , no potato peeler or can opener that worked and no pans to put into the oven and there was one knife to use for slicing . As there was no housekeeping supplied except for additional cost the mop supplied was rotten and I felt that the linens should have been picked up by housekeeping included in your rent as I was not prepared to pay for the washer and dryer to do them even though I was supplied with six tokens which would do two loads. I had no problem washing our own personal laundry. Eventually we got most of the items that we requested but after many emails and me having to push and argue..I was only requesting necessary things to be supplied...other than that..the condo owners are friendly and it's a perfect place to lay back and relax. The swimming pool's heater had not been repaired so no one used it in the month that we were there but why would you when you had the warm blue water at your finger tips...over all I would highly recommend any unit in this condo as long as what is advertised is supplied...
We apologised for the screens , and kept the client informed every step of the way , it does take time to fix items in the Bahamas , there is one screen supplier who also does the hurricane windows on the island and he was obviously still very busy after the storm.
We have taken the safe of the ad until the new ones arrive and we did also explain to you that the furniture outside was temp until our new shipment arrived .
We have had many many good reviews so we are happy with the service we provide .

As soon as I opened the door to the condo, it took my breath away. I was looking at the most beautiful ocean and beach view (FULL WALL HURRICANE GLASS PICTURESQUE VIEW.) It is truly a heavenly tropical paradise!
We will definitely return to Tyne Beach Terrace and book with Robin and Kate Bartram-Brown in 2016.

Robin has an amazing place at Tyne Beach. I traveled with my wife & 13yo daughter and we are ready to go back tomorrow. The unit is clean and has a great bathroom and kitchen. The beach is steps off the patio and the ocean is AMAZING! Don't be afraid to rent a car and drive on the left side of the road. Traffic on the island is lite and it is easy to navigate to and from Tyne Beach.
We stopped at SOLOMONS grocery on the way from the airport to stock up on supplies and we ate breakfast & lunch everyday at the unit and went out at night for dinner to the harbor or the hotel zone at Lucaya. Airport to Tyne beach is 12 min. Tyne Beach to straw market is 10min. Tyne Beach to the harbor is 15min. All easy driving!
The beach at Tyne is perfect. There is a rock formation for the entrance to Knowels Marina right off the beach that is perfect place to see the fish. My wife took a million pictures of the fish and loved it. Make sure to bring a pair of googles to use in the ocean to check it all out and you can always jump in the pool on property if the salt water gets to be too much for you.
Robin is super nice! Call him now to book you vacation at his place! We plan to return again as soon as possible!
