We stayed in the Reef for 5 nights, which is about the right amount of time to spend in Atlantis. The Cove is the nicest building, but is significantly more expensive without giving you access to anything different than the Reef.

Transfers:
The hotel sells a transfer for $200, but you can get a taxi (SUV) for less than $50 each way. They book it out to a 3rd party anyway so you aren't getting anything special by booking with them. The 3rd party turned out to be idiots and had the wrong size car for us and told us to take a taxi anyway. We had to fight with the hotel to get our refund. Just take a taxi and stop at the grocery store, there are two the large one is about 15 mins from the airport and is twice the size of the other. Taxis will charge you about $10 to stop, its worth it.

Room:
The rooms are actually individually owned so the experience you get can vary by how the owner takes care of it. The even numbers have the better view (922/924 were the best views possible). We had the 21st floor, which was nice as you can see the whole resort.
The configuration is two rooms, one bedroom with king bed (spacious) with door leading out to a pull out bed in the sofa (full size) and a full kitchen with Subzero refrigerator/freezer, stove and oven. The coffee maker is a Keureg and they bring you four pods per day. Perfect for kids. You definitely want to buy food and bring to the room as Atlantis is pricey...You can book the room next door and close off the entire space to make a two room suite.

The beds were comfortable with good linens and pillows. it has two full bathrooms in the suite, which was convenient. The master has both a shower and large bathtub. The bathrooms are good quality and the shower pressure was decent. No real issues there.
Closet space was decent so you have plenty of space for a family for 5-7 days.

Service:
This is where the Atlantis resort really fails. They include 15% tips + 12% VAT in everything so staff literally could care less about what you need. They also expect you tip on top of that so you get no real benefit of having "tip included". They are overall lazy and act like civil servants at the post office on a bad day. The life guard literally yelled at a woman in front of me asking what do you want? I got a pair of Reef flip flops stolen from the pool, which wasn't surprising as no one actually works there. Its hard to get a drink or food, you have to go wait in line at the lousy pool restaurants, none are good. I'll cover restaurants separately. Its one of those places where you have to get up at 7:00 am to claim you chairs...or bribe one of the pool guys to do it for you.

Beach:
The water is surprisingly cold, but you get used to it. The sand is reasonably soft and the surf is not too strong. There are rocks everywhere so you want to have water shoes for the kids. Decent snorkeling right there. They have beach chairs with sun blocks. What's interesting is that the beach staff is always in a hurry to close up so will start removing your chairs by about 5 so you will come out and your stuff is in a pile. We found our son's stuff on the ground where the chairs used to be. Overall, its a decent beach, but nothing special.

Food:
Really Expensive everywhere you go and fairly marginal quality. We ate at most restaurants so each one is below:
-Nobu: Horrible service, fairly consistent food with other Nobu restaurants, very expensive. The highest. Wine is 3.5X markup. Best food we had though.
-ChopSticks: A bad version of PF Chengs...Pretty lousy service too.
-SeaFire: Very good service, crappy cut of steak. Not worth the price. The bread was good, The Ceasar salad was really fishy. Get seafood as the steaks are about 1/2" thick, think grocery store.
-Mosaic: Decent breakfast buffet that is the same every day. The service was ok. At $31 per person it wasn't quite up to what you would expect from say a Four Seasons, but it wasn't bad. Pretty extensive options. No berries.
-Poseidan's table: Horrible, its like a Western Sizzlin buffet in a casino. Avoid.
-Sea Glass: Terrible service, limited menu. Not great for kids. Very average drinks. They were really inflexible.

Pools: (KEY NOTE: They allow smoking so you have people smoking everywhere!!!)
The pool at the Cove (adult pool) is the nicest at the property so if you're a couple that's where you go.
The kids pool at the Reef was decent and not crowded so kids could swim pretty safely. The life guards were terrible.
The water slide area is a beating, super crowded as the sell one day passes to cruise ships. You don't want to go on a day where there are a 3+ cruise ships in or you will be waiting forever. Do the tube rides early as they get the most crowded.

The lazy river is actually the best ride there as you have good rapids. We did that a bunch. The plunge through the shark tank is a waste as its really short and you are going so fast you don't see anything. The slides with the cave are the best as both the two tube rides and the water slide are longer and most interesting.
The kids area is great for kids 4 or younger. Our 3 year old had a blast.

Experiences:
1) Dolphin Encounter: lasts about 45 minutes and you are with about 30 people and one dolphin. Its basically a staged photo opp with each family taking turns taking pics with the dolphin which they sell you.
2) Snorkel with the dolphins: This could have been good, but was really short. Less than about 30 minutes. Like above you are with 15-20 people and one dolphin. He (they use boy dolphins usually for this) will push you like you are surfing (by your feet) and you get to ride his fin about 25 feet. Otherwise, its like above with the photo opps.
3) the Sea Lion Experience: This is actually the best one. Our 3 year old loved it. They let you pet the sea lion while they are grooming it. They teach you about them. Its one family per sea lion so you actually get more interaction. Its about 40 minutes or so. Yes, they will try and sell you photos.

It wasn't bad, it was just expensive for what you got. We would do Maui before we would ever go back here (we've been two Maui three times)

Room tip: High Floors. Even numbers have the ocean and pool view. Odds look at the bay with cruise ships. Room 922/924 are the best rooms .for view

It was all very mediocre
Very over priced rooms that arent updated at all .the staff of the water park and hotel were often combative not just rude but actuarially picking arguments and never explained the "instructions" seriously rude food service especially Starbucks in the marina. Some staff were exceptionally friendly. Most adequately accommodating. And about half neither cared or attempted to help and about half those were just mean and rude.only 2 of 5 elevators were working the 4 nights we stayed with water actually pouring down in.one.
For the money you spend you could go to a more naturally beautiful island twice and twice as long.its over crowded unmaintained and parts are almost gross especially the"custumer service

This resort is absolutely wonderful. It has everything for families and adults alike.
We stayed in the Reef which was beautiful but little far from a lot of the activities. We'll definitely go back and stay little closer to the Royal although the Royal itself it too large and crowded! Make sure you bring your "gold card". Everything here is quite expensive.

Room tip: Reef has kitchens and rooms are very nice. Far from alot of the activities

So much to do and enjoy!

Snorkel the Ruins - AWESOME!
Snorkel the open air aquarium. The manta ray "Coco" swims right by you (she is 10' wide). 2 Zebra sharks, tons of fish.
Experience the Sea Lions - AWESOME!
Interacted with the sea lions and a trainer.
Stingray experience - AWESOME!
Feeding the stingrays and then snorkeling with them was amazing.
SCUBA Shark Dive at Stuart Cove - AWESOME!
1st dive was a reef/wreck dive. 2nd dive was the group sitting on the ocean floor as a dive master feeds a group of 20-30 reef and nurse sharks.
Fishing - AWESOME!
Chubasco Charter fishing. Did a 4 hour morning trip. My 17 year old landed a Mahi Mahi almost 5' long, 100 pounds.

Resort - HUGE. Took some time to figure out. Resort needs more/better signage and directions. Shuttle buses take you to other hotels, locations. Easy to use.

Room - Reef/Studio Terrace, Harborview. We had a great view of the ocean as well. Huge room and bedroom. Nice kitchen, 2 baths.

Price - Cost is expensive for everything. Food, drinks, etc... We ordered some groceries rom Foodstore2go.com and had it delivered to the room. Still pricey, but was able to have simple meals ready in the room.

Staff - Most of the staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful. There were a few that looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. Not sure how many employees there are, but seemed like most were happy to be there.

My family (wife, 17 year old son, 21 year old son, I) felt that this was the best vacation we ever had!

Room tip: Reef and Cove are quieter. The Coral and Royal are right in the middle of shopping, casino, etc... More noise and people
