Catered to vacations bent over backwards to make our recent stay and accommodations work for my family. When the first home we were in had issues they worked to get us into a new facility that was exactly what we needed.(Hummingbird Hill). Catered to Vacations understands customer service.

Loved the privacy and proximity to town. Would definitely do again. Only negative was steep access road
Hummingbird Hill was wonderful - comfortable home with all amenities including a lovely pool and outdoor shower in the master bedroom. Peaceful - lush tropical foliage afforded amazing privacy, solitude & peacefulness. And the view - from the pool, the outdoor dining area, the living room, the bedrooms and from the moment you awake -- just the most beautiful view west of the ocean and St. Thomas.
Hummingbird Hill house is definitely worth considering when staying in St John near Cruz Bay. The drive up the hill might scare some, with grades approaching 50% on some corners! But when you get to the house, it is all worth it. There are 3 bedrooms: a master BR with private bath, a room with 2 single beds, with a bath just beside it, and a separate poolside bedroom with its own bath - this one with an outdoor shower! There is a 4th room (with a telescope) that has another bed.
The amenities are perfectly appropriate, although the kitchen is a bit small, but well appointed. There is a good sized swimming pool. A washer/dryer is below the house. There is a BBQ outside. Two large covered porches/decks, as well as the poolside deck with lounge chairs. There is a TV, stereo, and wifi.
Beach chairs are provided for guests to take to the beach, as are towels etc.
The view, however, is to die for. You look straight across the bay to Redhook on St Thomas. Because of the elevation, you can see St Croix on a clear day. Directly in front of the porches are dense trees and shrubs, which do not obstruct the view, but hide the neighbors' houses. These are kept "trimmed" by the large iguanas that sit there every morning, munching on the foliage (these lizards are truly dinosaur-like, but harmless). At night, the small frogs (coqui, for the sound they make) strike up a chirping cacophony, that is nonetheless easy to fall asleep to.
The only thing missing, that might have been useful was a drying rack to hang damp or wet clothes on (eg. Swim trunks etc). A minor "problem". Definitely consider this house if looking to rent with family or friends.
