I was part of a big wedding party that stayed for a week. The staff was very nice and even upgraded me to a better room when my room wasn't ready. The pools were great and they have a happy hour at all of their bars at different times, which pretty much guarantees happy hour all day. The beach was nice and is a short walk from the main building or a short shuttle ride. At the beach you can kayak, rent a jet ski, or just grab a float. There are also two locations to eat at while down there if you plan on staying there for a while.

A few of us did the night kayak, which is a kayak with a clear bottom with LED lights. Our guide Dylan who was very knowledgeable of the island and the areas where we would see certain fish, stingrays and sea turtles. It was a good time and even walked away with a few good/corny jokes.

Room Tip: Seacliff, ocean view room was awesome.

We chose this hotel for the location and reserved a beachfront room at Morningstar. They contacted us about a week before our arrival to let us know our building was going to be closed for repairs and they would need to relocate us. Danielle in guest relations was very helpful and found us a great location on the 7th floor of the main building. Our room overlooked the bay and the view at night was spectacular! Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We especially liked Jahmal H. who worked at the entrance to the hotel. We rented a car for the week and he would have us leave it by the front entrance and park it for us when a close parking spot opened up. Otherwise we would've been walking up and down a very steep hill to the overflow parking lot.

We were very pleased with the decor of the hotel and the pools were fabulous. The numerous iguanas roaming around took a little getting used to though! Our room was updated and decorated nicely. We were a little nervous about what to expect since some reviews are good and some were not so good, but we were very pleased with our whole experience at this hotel.

Dear SH_Tex71,

Thank you for your recent stay with us and for taking the time to write a review! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it overall, starting with your satisfaction with the room re-assignment to Frenchman’s Reef. I’m pleased that we were able to exceed your expectations given circumstances and I apologize if our “facelift” caused any inconveniences for you. We are currently in the process of some fantastic renovations and occasionally need to shut down certain areas to facilitate the upgrades. We appreciate your patience, and look forward to seeing you again in the future when you can come see the exciting changes! Last, I will be sure to pass along your regards to Danielle and Jahaml for outstanding customer service.

Best,
JP, General Manager

Just returned home yesterday from a 5 night 6 day trip. With the exception of the waiters by the pool, most bell man, and the bartender at the Rum Bar, the employees don't have any sense of what Customer Service means. Our first room assignment was across from the maid's closet. When we asked for a change in the room they said they could not do it as all other rooms were already assigned. In the meantime, our room was not ready on time and we had to wait another 45 minutes for it to be available (now after 5pm). This is after other guests who arrived after us were given a better room. After about an hour of back and forth and me nearly brought to tears, they assigned us to another room…better from the first one but right on top of the outdoor lounge and not great. The young guy with dark hair whose eyes always appeared half open (didn't get his name) and a dutch boy haircut, was most disrespectful telling me "take it or leave it". 3 of the days, when we arrived back to the room around 4:30 to 5pm, the room was not cleaned. We were told the housekeeper's priority is to get the rooms cleaned for the people checking in the same day and if they don't have the time to do all the rooms, they do start back at 5pm. Huh? Why would anyone agree to stay at a hotel where the rooms are not cleaned until the time you come back to shower to go out to dinner? I was also told the "privacy" sign was on the door and that's why the housekeeper didn't clean our room. We did have the privacy sign on the door… until 10am each morning when we would leave for the day. Black mold in the shower and all over the walls of the shower was never cleaned. The same half eaten sweet tart that was on the floor below where the bottom of the foot of the bed is was on the floor when we checked in and was on the floor when we left yesterday. I guess the housekeepers don't use vacuums, don't have vacuums or have bad eyesight. There is a gift/coffee shop on the lobby level. Very convenient, but very dirty. I dropped the room key on the floor and crusty, disgusting stuff that was caked on the floor was all over the place.

The location is beautiful, highly recommend spending the day at Morning Star beach which is a 5 minute walk from the main hotel and part of the resort.

We will not recommend the resort or come back unless we were assured the place was clean and the staff were welcoming.

Room Tip: There is a $45/day resort fee that pays for wifi, towels, paddle boards.

Dear Happytriptaker1,

Thank you for your comments and recommendations of our location and Morning Star Beach. Please accept my apology for the delay you experienced at check-in. I understand that it can be stressful especially after a day of traveling. We have made significant improvements getting everyone into their rooms on or before the check-in time but are not able to in every single case. I will be reviewing this, plus your housekeeping and service comments with the leadership team. At this time, we are also hiring additional staff in several key areas. We strive to embody a welcome and gracious attitude with all our guests.

We hope to welcome you again to our beautiful island. When you being to make your return plans, I invite you to work with our pre-arrival team in assuring all your preferences are included in your reservation.

Best,

Fantastic Property! From the second we stepped into the lobby entrance from our ride from the Airport to our checkout and sorrowful goodbyes we had a blast.

We arrived in the early afternoon and were welcomed with hellos and good afternoons by each and every employee we saw. We didn't have to seek them out they came to us. The place was hopping and they still found time to have a smile a good afternoon or can I help you.

Our room was excellent and nicely air conditioned as we arrived (it was hot hot hot so this was nice) and was very large and smelled great.

We stayed 4 days and did almost everything that the property offered from the shuttles that rotate around the property to help with the steep climbs and the restaurant we had breakfast at twice everything was awesome.

The high light was the pools many views and sites from the infinity pools and loved loved the swim up bar.

Over all one of my best experiences of my life and hope to do it again.

Thank you Marriott Frenchman's Reef!!!

Room Tip: If you think you will be walking along way from your room just ask for a shuttle they will call you one

My wife and I participated in the SUP Yoga with Katie while visiting St Thomas on a cruise. We were fortunate to be the only two people doing the paddle board yoga at the time we had booked. Katie was very patient with us as we maneuvered the paddle boards. She walked us through many different yoga poses taking into consideration our yoga experience. She was even able to capture some memories for us with her cell phone. The cab ride to the hotel from our cruise ship was $7 each. We would highly recommend this to visitors of St Thomas and especially hotel guests. Well worth the time and money! Thanks Katie!

Dear Msuiu,

We’ll be sure to let Katie know her teaching skills were top notch. I can imagine there is some getting used to the boards, so it’s excellent to hear she made the experience fun and memorable. We’ve been getting nothing but fantastic feedback about both her and this exciting class.
