“Fabulous Girlfriend Getaway!”
Reviewed 15 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We stayed at Little Taj in March of 2017, which is winter where we come from! This home is really large and excellent for spreading out and/or entertaining. There was plenty of room for our group of 4 women. Upon entrance we went into the great room which is very open with 30’ ceilings, gleaming high end marble floors and a grand staircase leading up to the kitchen and bedrooms. The home is tastefully furnished and keeps with the Caribbean influence, but there are some pieces that hint of other places. Africa comes to mind. It was fairly hot when we walked in but after opening the doors the natural breezes flooded the home with fresh cooler air and it was quickly comfortable without added air conditioning. The bedrooms were all clean and spacious with fresh and stylish linens. Each bedroom had an AC unit in them and they all worked very well. The pool was pristine and a welcome cool down after a day in the hot sun. Pool towels were provided. The design of the home, including the kitchen, can easily accommodate a very large number of people without overcrowding. As lovely as the home is, that big covered porch that opens up to the ocean view was the crown jewel, in our opinion. We came to St Thomas to be outside and the outdoor experience at this property also exceeded our expectations. Watch for the small colorful parrots that live in the area, we saw them flying in the mornings! The photos of the home are accurate to what you will actually see inside however all levels of the residence are not part of this rental. The owner occupies the lower floors and this rental is in the uppermost level. 7000 sq. ft. is accurate for the rental. Other than a welcome visit from the owner, we were not otherwise disturbed. The location feels safe and private with lush vegetation all around. There is a little trail accessed from the driveway down to Abi Beach below. It was a 4 min walk down that way. There is also access to that beach on a separate dirt road by car which is recommended after dark. The walking trail is easy to see in the daylight but not at night. We went down to Abi Beach for a Saturday night BBQ buffet (delicious and only $12.00!) with live music that played until 8PM. Fun and close by if you don’t want to venture far away.
The owner, Solomon, was very attentive from the first inquiry I made about the rental. He connected me with Marcus who met us at the airport, took us to the rental car and then brought us to the house and showed us around. Marcus also led us to a grocery store nearby. It was more reasonably priced but it was also a “big box” type store. If your stay is shorter and you only want small amounts, ask him to take you to a smaller grocery store. Prices are higher but easier to get a little jar of mustard! We really liked this outstanding property and the warm welcome we had from Solomon and Marcus made our stay very special. If you have a large group, this is an amazing lodging option in St Thomas.

“THE BEST VIEW ON THE ISLAND”

Me and my family recently returned from the most amazing vacation one can only dream of.
The Little Taj by the Sea was absolutely wonderful with breathtaking views and all the amenities necessary. The hospitality was outstanding. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to spend our Christmas vacation here. The pool was clean and enjoyed by all, withing walking distance to the beach. We would love to visit again in the future. Thank you Solomon for everything.

“So poor, it burned down ......”

If you're looking for a heavenly view, this property had it.
But that's about all it had.
Photos were obviously taken years ago. Home was not guest-ready, AC units were broken, computer parts laying in the dining room, MAJOR electrical issues, jacuzzi cover sitting next to jacuzzi for hoses and wires to be exposed to the elements, fresh paint that was only halfway done ...the list could go on.
We were not only disappointed when we arrived, since the home was far more aged than depicted online, but because of the poor maintenance of the home, it BURNED DOWN WITHIN HOURS OF OUR ARRIVAL!

An electrician had to be called immediately upon arrival due to poor maintenance. When we came back a couple of hours later, we walked in to a flooded upstairs.
Moments later, an AC fire engulfed the entire master bedroom, then spread quickly, leaving us completely displaced.

All 4 of us were disappointed from the moment we arrived and felt it wasn't accurately represented online. The obvious electrical issues were enough to have an electrician called. If we'd only known this was going to happen ...our entire honeymoon and wedding were ruined!!!!!
