We recently visited for our yearly dive trip. I'm very glad we choose this resort. It's really geared to diving and enjoying the beach (when not below the water).
The owners, Ginny and Tom were very accommodating to our travel changes, as we were trying to escape Houston before Harvey kept us grounded.
Once we arrived, we were nicely greeted by Ginny and given a tour of the grounds and a lovely "welcome" cocktail.

The food and chef were amazing!! We were pleased with every meal. The chef even made our friend a birthday cake!

I cannot say enough about the diving and the dive masters. We saw something unique on each of our 12 dives!! We are definitely considering making this a yearly trip for our dive group.

Just want to say a huge "Thank You" to all the wonderful staff. We left feeling that this was our own private resort and truly felt like family by the end of our stay!

Thank you for your very nice TripAdvisor review – we really appreciate it! Grand Turk is an amazing dive spot, and as you’ve seen, its reputation for incredible water clarity is not exaggerated. And on shore we think we need to live up to the tone nature has set. So, we have a great bar with delicious cocktails, and our restaurant is one of the best on the island. But above all we think treating people like they’re family is a level of customer service that our guests deserve. We look forward to helping you arrange your trip here next year.

Until then, our motto... Just Breathe....

This is a nice little spot for a day at the beach. We made our way up from the cruise ship and it was quiet with a nice beach bar and restaurant. You can rent snorkel gear. The staff is very friendly and Rosie is the best bartender.

Thanks for dropping by Bohio on your stopover on Grand Turk! We do have a great spot to just jump in the water and start enjoying nature. And when you’re done Rosie makes any number of great, refreshing cocktails. Think about coming back and staying with us for a few more days and experience everything Bohio has to offer.

Overall we were very happy with our stay at Bohio and I would give this place 4 1/2 stars. This hotel caters to scuba divers and does it well. They have an area to store and dry dive gear and the dive boats are right on the beach. The dive masters will assist with bringing your gear on and off the boats if you are diving multiple days. We dived mornings and afternoons and loved the idea that the boat rides were short and convenient and we could do our surface intervals at the hotel. Our dive master Ollie was great. The wall is phenomenal with absolutely beautiful coral reefs and nice tropical fish life. The reefs had tons of healthy coral and particularly a lot of beautiful soft corals, several sites also had beautiful coral swim throughs. We didn't see much large animal life, maybe a couple of nurse sharks and turtles, but we saw tons of brightly colored tropical fish and some barracuda. Given the depths at many sites I would recommend an advanced certification so you can dive in the 80-90 ft range on many sites. No nitrox is available but it's not really needed either.

The staff was all friendly at the hotel. We ate all our meals in the restaurant and spent quite a bit of time at the beach bar. I liked that they reserved beach chairs and umbrellas for hotel guests otherwise on the days the cruise ship guests came there would have been nowhere to sit. They also reserved areas in the beach bar for guests. the hotel arranged a taxi to and from the airport for us which was very convenient. There's not much to do on Grand Turk so it was nice that the on-site bar and restaurant had plenty of options.

Reasons for 4 1/2 instead of 5 stars mainly has to do with the accommodations. We knew this going in but these are basic accommodations - not luxury by any means. They were clean and comfortable but if you are looking for a modern room with luxury appointments you would be disappointed. I wish the bathroom had been a bit bigger - there wasn't enough room for more than one person to be in there. The shower also had less than ideal water pressure but was functional and we never had an issue with hot water which is a bigger issue in my book. If they renovated a few rooms this place would be absolutely fabulous.

That being said, it has a fabulous location right on the beach and the rooms are convenient to the main part of the hotel with the bar and restaurant. Each room also has its own balcony so you can lay out items to dry or just sit and enjoy the view. The beach itself is spectacular with sugary white sand and crystal clear calm warm waters. We would definitely stay again.

Thanks for staying with us at Bohio – we appreciate it! Your points about diving are excellent ones. Regardless of what level of diver we host, they are constantly amazed by the clarity of the water and the depth of visibility. We think people can look forward to their accommodations, as they are very clean, comfortable rooms, and we don’t pretend to be a luxury resort. But if you want a world class location, magnificent food, spectacular diving and a comfortable room to get a great rest, then we’re your place. We hope we’ll see you again.

We had a wonderful time at Bohio. Tom and Emily were charming and helpful hosts. When we missed our connecting flight to Grand Turk from Provo, Emily was able to get us on the first flight the next morning and made sure that we were set up for the night. When we arrived, we had an amazing breakfast (eggs benedict with perfectly made hollandaise sauce), then Tom gave us a tour of the resort. And what a lovely barefoot resort. The powder-soft sand, the aquamarine water, the view that goes on and on. We had a corner king, second floor, with a view of the salina and the beach / ocean. The balcony was surrounded by beautiful palm trees and felt very private. The room, itself, was spotless and comfy.

The diving was as beautiful as the resort – healthy reef system, lots of schooling fish, and the wall begins so close to shore! Dan, our divemaster, was awesome; we dove with him the entire week. We mostly had the boat to ourselves: even though there was room on another boat. We mentioned to Dan that we liked swim throughs, and he brought us to some really cool crevices that opened out over the deep blue drop- off on the wall.

Everyone working at the resort (and staying at the resort) was laid back and very friendly. This was a perfect dive getaway!

First, this a hotel geared for divers. The rooms here are modest and simple, but clean. The staff and folks here are wonderful, everyone is pleasant and helpful and they make you feel welcomed. This is not the Four Seasons so check your expectations at the door. It is a small place so you get to know your fellow travelers easily. Not a lot going on on Grand Turk however, pretty dead actually but the beach and water is simply amazing. The "cruise people" were pretty obnoxious and descended upon the place when cruise ships were in port, felt like locust attacking. The hotel staff did a nice job of keeping them away from areas reserved for the hotel guests but there were a nuisance. We ate at the restaurant there most every meal, there is really not much else around, but enjoyed it thoroughly. The waitstaff got to know us and we didn't ask for our regular evening drinks, they remembered and just brought it to our table. The owners are great, helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. The diving was spectacular. All of about 15 minutes from the beach to the wall.

Thanks for “diving in” with us at Bohio! You’re right, we are a dive resort first and foremost. We are fortunate to be able to share this dynamic place with people from all over the world. And while you’re here, we tend to sit back, relax, share our stories of the day, eat some great food and have a few cool refreshments in the process. It’s that sense of peace and relaxation that our guests love and why they keep coming back. When other members of the public join us and share our lovely beach, we make sure our guests are well taken care of. We appreciate the kind remarks about our staff, we’ll be sure to share those and hope that we’ll see you again sometime.
