Everything is wonderful! 29 Palms is just as the advertising states. The locals and other travellers are so friendly. This little island is a hidden treasure! Getting around is good as you don't stay lost for long - lol. We recommend a car rental to take advantage of different snorkel entry points. You will learn read the wind to know what side of the island to swim and snorkel each day. There is a little bakery east of us within walking distance, and also some locals that are willing to take you fishing. Pat's for valentines dinner was awesome, Asian house was great as well. We recommend getting local currency as it makes things a little easier. Shop around for best grocery prices, The Shoppe seems to be the best. We probably will have more to share as we are still in the first week of a three week visit.
Very comfortable house to stay in. The pictures posted on site don't do the place justice. The most comfortable bed is slept in during a two week trip (I stayed here four days). Comfortable living room set and tv with an abundance of channels for when you need to relax. Nice laundry room with a clothesline right next to it making for easy time doing laundry. Has very helpful info for the island located on the coffee table
This was exactly as advertised. Teri did an excellent job of following up on all of our questions. Her property manager, Carol, was wonderful....very helpful and responsive. The cottage was very comfortable. The sunsets from the deck were gorgeous. We only had to use the a/c in the middle of the afternoon- the rest of the time, the fans and the ocean breeze were plenty. The kitchen was small but well equipped. The wi-fi was a bit slow, but that is not why we were there! We would highly recommend this property!

We stayed at 29 Palms for four nights recently and can recommend it for someone who wants to get away from the more tourist orientated accommodation. Was met by the manager, Van at the airport who guided us to the cottage at the other end of the island. The cottage had air conditioning which we hardly used and excellent Internet (which we seem to rely on too much even when on holidays). Listening to the sea lapping to shore at night was far better than having the air conditioning grinding away in your ear. Small ants in the kitchen were pesky but you learnt not to leave food on the bench. TV worked well and the kitchen was equipped enough that we didn't eat out at all - a vegetable peeler would be handy. As we are divers, the 29 Palms became an oasis for an afternoon nap followed by an explore around the rest of the island and sunset drinks overlooking the cliffs at the lighthouse etc or from our back deck. A local popped by to welcome us. I would definitely recommend the house and Island to someone like us who are keen divers and like exploring the environment, but don't come expecting great nightlife or life in the fast lane.
We stayed for a week in August and although very hot, the cottage has good AC. it is well equipped to cook meals with a small grocery within walking distance along with a wonderful bakery also nearby. Restaurant options are limited without a car. The wonderful back deck area and nice snorkeling made it perfect for our week of relaxation. The owner Teri was prompt and thorough with all communication and her property manager, Van, was very helpful in arranging some special transportation and meeting any need we had. We also found that the local neighbors living nearby were very friendly which enhanced our experience.
