Some newer hotels have sprung up nearby but I’ll be back again to Ritz. Some of the staff here have worked here since it opened and you feel like you are seeing friends when you come back (and they are from all over the world.) Many thanks to Patricia from security who helped my sister when she got sick and took care of her (so grateful) she was wonderful and even called the next day to make sure she was okay. That being said there are some crappy rooms at this hotel even on the ocean view side especially above the restaurant you can smell and hear everything. You can hear other guests talking in adjoining rooms if you have one of those. Guests hear tend to be loud and love talking on the balcony where you can hear their entire conversations. This is definitely an old school resort style hotel and busy with conferences so be warned! But still the best hotel on the island.

Grand Cayman surprisingly has a series of great Vegan eateries. All within a short walk of the hotel. To us being anle to walk everywhere was a huge bonus in that you didnt need a cab. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of cabs if you want but nothing a 20 minute walk cant reach as well. Besides what great feeling walking in the warm Caribbean evening air. Drivers are courteous but be careful crossing.

The Ritz is just a great place. In my mind there is no better beach in the Cayman. In October the water was 87 degrees. Just perfect for lounging. I was reminded that is what we are supposed to do on vacation.

You can snorkel right offshore. You will see rays, the odd eel, and a lot of sea life but like snything be careful. There is a good offshore current and very quickly your half mile out..

Ammenities are perfect from pools to pool chairs to spa. You can enjoy the steam room included in your resort fees. So are your pool chaurs, beach chairs, tennis, and golf.
Enjoy!

Stayed at the Ritz in an ocean front room . Great views , great service, great help. Everyone is always smiling and offering help. Food has been very good and going to Blue tonight and will do a separate review. Yes prices are high but to me its the currency conversion which will be the same in any place in the Cayman’s . Can’t comment on the back tower but if you can do it get in the ocean tower. Great sunsets from the room . The hotel is in the middle of the beach strip so easy walk to many other restaurants which we did all nights other the final night. This is the Ritz and certainly honors the label .

Beautiful room, wonderful staff, great beach! All of the things one wants when on a vacation. The location is great for when you just want to get out and walk for a nice breakfast or dinner somewhere else. Some of the most pleasant staff I’ve ever met. They all speak English and seem to enjoy engaging with hotel guests. That personal touch. Just one small complaint, please stop doing the nickel and dime thing over an ounce of hummus. We were at the beach in a $250.00 per day Cabana and ordered the crudités, it came with an ounce of hummus and an ounce of ranch dressing. We quickly ran out of both and were charged $2.00 when we requested one more of each. I mean Seriously ?

My title says it all. The service at this hotel was better than any other place that i have ever stayed. We were part of a large group of perhaps 300 people and every event that we attended was well done. We ate at Bar Jack several times. Nice location looking out at the beach with bar-type food (highly priced but that's the Ritz). Drinks are somewhat outrageous averaging perhaps US20 each. We also ate at Andiamo and I have separately reviewed that. Good food, but also expensive and full of babies and children. I was actually surprised by the number of children at this hotel. They were all well-behaved. The beach was long and deep, but with so many people staying at the hotel you had to get there by 9am to get the last couple of chairs at the end of the beach. The pool wasn't as crowded and since it was very large there were ample chaise lounges available. The service on the beach and at the pool was excellent. They have a system where you raise a flag on your umbrella at the beach to call the attendant. The water toys were lots of fun. We went out on the glass-bottom kayak and with the water clear all the way to the bottom, there was a lot to see. Not far off from the beach is where the dive boats bring people for scuba diving and snorkeling. We also took a lesson on the Hobie Cats. All of those are included in the resort fee. Reserve your lesson on the Hobie Cats early as we had to wait a day and a half after we made our reservation. We ate breakfast each morning at the restaurant in front of the pool. In the evening it is Blue, and the service and food was excellent. The wait staff and servers all greeted you by name several times. One example of the personal attention to detail is as follows: We were at the beach in our swimsuits. My wife put on a hat, sunglasses and a wrap to go to the room. Along the way, she passed our waiter who recognized her and called out to her by name. We had a room with an ocean view that was fabulous. The view, not the room. In the opinion of many of our colleagues, the rooms are just average. The sunsets from the room are awesome. Initially, we had a room facing the back lawn that was merely ok, so we switched. This is probably the nicest hotel on the island. By the time you pay the rack rate, resort fee and taxes it is going to cost you in excess of $750 per day.
