We ate here twice while on island for a 10-day stay. We rented a house on the beach on the East End and spent a day in West Bay snorkeling, ending with dinner at Macabuca. We had been here on previous trips and loved the food, service, and view, so we made a point to come back. It was just as good as we remembered and we came back again on our last full day on island.
Macabuca is the only bar/grill on island I have been to (and I've been to a LOT since I've been on island 6 different years) that is NOT on the annoying "island time". They never make you feel the least bit rushed, but they provide excellent service. We have never had to wait and wait for someone to come take care of us like is so common at many restaurants all over the island.
We always eat at the downstairs bar/grill, but there is an upstairs restaurant that is more upscale called The Cracked Conch .
We have had various items off the menu including fish, coconut shrimp, chicken quesadillas (my husband's favorite) and of course the fabulous Buca Kiss cocktail. ;)
You eat overlooking the ocean with a sunset view for dinner and can watch divers and snorkelers going in and coming out. Overall a wonderful place. I'll come back next time I'm on island.
