hotel and bungalows needs updating, repair and serious cleaning. Run down and the 'attitude' of the daughters
is less than customer friendly.

They really should invest in improvements, it could be really charming.

it gets two stars for the location only.

I am giving this hotel a five star review because of the excellent service at this family-owned establishment -- rooms were clean and comfortable. This is NOT the Ritz Carlton so if you're looking for that, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a beach-front property that is centrally located and has a wonderful bar/restaurant with ocean views, you will love this place. They have regular rooms as well as ocean front little cottages - just charming and the staff is friendly and treat you like family. We cannot wait to go back for a longer stay later this year.

Room tip: Best view are from the ocean front cottages...but it's lovely everywhere on the property.

My 13 year old son and I stayed at Fischers Cove last month and I can promise we will be back. This is exactly what we wanted. A no-fuss, no-muss, relaxed atmosphere with clean rooms offering the basics for our week's stay to snorkel, dive, hike, swim, rock climb and sightsee Virgin Gorda - at a reasonable rate. For this Fischers Cove made an excellent "base camp". The property and beach is centrally located, our room was on the ground floor of a small brightly painted 2-storey block building on the landscaped property. I think there were 8 rooms total. 4 on top, 4 on the bottom. Like a mini-motel.
Inexpensive rooms with a patio were nice and clean, equipped with AC and a fridge, a desk and chairs, a closet and a private bathroom w shower - just right for our needs.
We started every day with roosters crowing (can't avoid them anywhere on the island) and ate a solid breakfast in the hotel restaurant served by friendly staff with a view of the beach and strait. About $10 each. My son had the pancakes with milk (evaporated) and I had the 'Two eggs any way" with toast and fruit plus pineapple juice. Perfect for both of us. From our table we could watch the morning (or evening) waves and weather and plan our day.
After breakfast we'd take off for the day in our rental jeep. Coming back from our activities, we relaxed with other hotel guests in the lounge to get our dose of WiFi connection, and order some food or drinks if we wanted. For more privacy, we could retire to our patio or room before going to sleep. We usually ate lunch and dinners out at other restaurants on the island just to sample different experiences.
One Friday night got pretty noisy from dance music and parties carrying over from bars in the vicinity, but you take it in stride and the sounds faded promptly around midnight, so we still got enough sleep. Realistically, Spanishtown is so small and compact, you could hear almost everything that was going on in town anyway.
Fischer Cove staff were super friendly and helpful with our questions. There were self-serve beach towels and some light swimming and kayaking gear at the main office. Laundry service is available, but we just happened upon a laundry service in town and had one load done for $11.
Fischer Cove should not be confused with the expectations of a "major" resort hotel - Fischer Cove is a much more, dare I say, authentic Virgin Gorda island experience. Relaxed, open and friendly, closer to the locals and things that are going on around you. We loved exactly this part of our stay. Thank you.

This is a small, easy going little resort. There are rooms and several small cottages. We rented two cottages, one free standing, the other one side of a duplex. This could have been noisy, but we were fortunate in our neighbours. Our one spacious room had a gas stove, small fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster.

There are short, pretty paths through gardens to a nice beach. There is an open air lounge with rockers that flows into the bar then into the restaurant. The restaurant food is very good. A bit pricy to comparable fare on the island.

Plenty of parking. Within walking distance of some excellent restaurants. M&M bakery (you want to find this - open 6pm to 11 am) is a long walk or quick drive away. Sealingo Sports has a kiosk on sight. Convenient to the Baths (10 min drive).

We were there during hatchling season and there were three families of baby chicks on site, which we loved. Of course, there were also roosters and they were doing what roosters do every morning about 4:30 am. Didn't bother me. Bring ear plugs. All Caribbean islands have roosters.

There was some music up the street that played somewhat late one evening, as well.

Also, some islands have power issues and we experienced some short outages our first few days.

The big thing is the cruise ships: BVI has small (350 max) cruise ships anchor overnight.
With the economy what it is, Fischer's Cove has a facility for big outdoor lunches that they rent to the cruise ships. Sometimes they rent just for lunch. Sometimes they rent for the day which means boatloads of beach cabanas, water toys, and tourists taking over the beach. Either way, they close the restaurant at the hotel for lunch.

During our 10 day stay, we had 2 lunch bunches and one all day.

I am glad they get the business to stay open, but . . . Be sure you have a rental car and can escape.

Overall, a nice little spot with easy going staff (Wayne is great and Diedre knows anything you need to).

It's not the Ritz. It's very island.

We had some friends tell us about breakfast at the restaurant at the Fischer's cove resort and I have to tell you the experience was great! From our host Vincent to the beautifully prepared food the simple pleasures come to life... great coffee, great omelette, Norma's egg white omelette with fresh fruit on the side, and the Beautiful, quiet, peaceful view of the ocean... I almost didn't want to review this place cause I want to keep it for mY own ! If I didnt already gave my place to stay, we'd probably stay here but breakfast will do for now!
