Stayed for 6 nights at Maria's by the Sea recently. The stay was primarily for a work related event at the hotel so there was no leisure tourism involved. I had to get over the initial shock of the weird design of the hotel where -
- It is possible for someone to go directly from the car park to your room door without passing through the main entrance of the hotel
- Doors to room do not have secondary latches (1st hotel I have ever been in that didn't have latches to supplement the lock)
*In furtherance to the weird design we were assured the island is very safe with very low levels of crime.

A summary of the main pros and cons is to be found below:
1. Location - very good location in Road Town within 5 to 10 mins walking time to the cruise ship pier, Pier Park, restaurants, supermarkets/shopping and the ferry terminal to go to other the other Virgin Islands
2. The lunch that was provided on each day was absolutely superb for buffet style
3. Spacious room with a comfortable bed offering a good sleep quality
4. Room contained a sizeable fridge, a microwave and you received two bottles of water daily

1. Wi-Fi is very spotty to non existent in the room. This may be a room specific issue however in my room this was a big downside as it was persistent
2. Television appears to be Wi-Fi based and given the poor quality Wi-Fi watching TV was never an option
3. The room whilst spacious is very dated and contained a musty smell. The bathroom was even more dated that the bedroom area with signs of work having been done but not covered over such as holes on the wall etc. The bath tub was pretty worn as well
4. The level of friendliness/customer service from the staff was of a low level. Being a Caribbean Island dependent on Tourism I would have expected more friendly/attentive staff
5. Would have liked an in room safe

Overall I am willing to say my stay was satisfactory and attribute some of the issues to rebuilding in the aftermath of Irma.

Very convenient if you are travelling via Roadtown Fast Ferry. It's about a 5 minute walk from the ferry station. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was good. The staff was lukewarm at best - not rude, just seemed like they were disinterested in their jobs. Front desk staff talked among themselves about their personal lives - I felt as though I was interrupting their day with my silly need to check-in. The on-site restaurant was good but Pusser's Pub is a short walk away and turned out to be a much nicer dining experience. If you are about to embark on a sailing trip - Bobby's Supermarket is within walking distance. It's a huge supermarket with everything you could possibly need for a week of glorious sailing. Overall - mostly positive experience - would have been much better if staff had a more welcoming attitude.

Room tip: No self-service laundry but they do offer laundry service -- something like $3 to wash a pair of socks.

We spent one night before our sailing trip. It is very convenient to the Ferry. Our room was a large two bedroom suite. The rooms were a little sparce but functional. Plenty of shampoo/soap/towels. Room was clean but a little worn. People at front desk were friendly and helpful. Beautiful area to sit at restaurant and look out over water. Food was on the expensive side but tasty and filling.

The hotel is well located, a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is an onsite bar and restaurant. We didn't eat there, but we had a few drinks which were well made by the friendly bartender. The rooms are a good size and clean. We only stayed one night, but would stay here again in the future.

Room tip: The Hotel has an elevator

I stayed at Maria's by the Sea for 4 nights and considering they are still majorly recovering from Hurricane Irma in 2017 it was a good stay.

It's a shame the outdoor terrace/bar area is not rebuilt yet as it would be nice to sit/drink/eat outdoors and Roadtown is severely lacking on alternatives so this would be invaluable however these things take time and I'm sure it will be great once finished.

The food in the restaurant is excellent and both breakfast and dinner options have a wide range of choice and I didn't have a single bad meal whilst I was there.

Location wise everything is in walking distance, what more could you want really.
