The resort is beautiful; damage from the storms was fixed immediately. The staff are all wonderful, and in a real way, not that creepy fake way. Especially the bartenders at the pool! The location is perfect, with stores for everyday needs, and amazing restaurants as well, like Toppers and the Casino next door, all easily within walking distance. And Burger King if you're needing that kind of thing! You definitely need to take a day trip or two to the French side, but this is a great home base. They were still doing some rebuilding when we were there, because of course, but they started at like 9 or 10 at the earliest and they did their best to keep the noise down. By the time you read this, it will probably be done, but always bring ear plugs just in case, I say. We were also right next to the pool, which pumps music, so make sure you request a quiet room if you need it (my mom would have been miserable, but the sun and swimming had us passing out cold. And the rum...). I gave it a 9/10 on the "Likely to return" question on their survey, but I think I was lying because I'm already checking out some great deals they have in January! 10/10.

Room Tip: Go for the full kitchen if you can. Our room was a bit noisy but literally 10 steps from the pool, so no complaints. Weigh your options.

We just returned from a trip on SXM and stayed at Simpson Bay Resort. We were concerned about going back since the storm but we were soooo glad we did.
The resort is back and looks like nothing happened there, besides the 2 buildings they knocked down.
The property is just like when we stayed there in January 2017. Room was amazing. We had a 2 bedroom in the Marina building. HUGE room with an amazing view. The staff were all great and seemed genuinely happy to have us back.
We toured the island while we were there and while it’s not the same and still has a lot of destruction we never felt unsafe on SBR property. There was plenty of security walking around and even for an “all girls trip” we felt at ease and safe.
We can’t wait to return in January for 2 weeks and with the peace of mind it’s safe and ready for our entire family to return!

A few earlier reviews were iffy and mentioned the property was a bit worn down. I did not see any of that. It was beautiful and very well maintained. In the areas that were open, there was no sign of damage from last years hurricane. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance to many great restaurants. I highly recommend this resort.

This is a clean and colorful resort on a beautiful beach. The storm damage and recovery were evident all around us but our unit was beautiful, clean, with a great view of the sea. We had a one bedroom with 2 pull out Murphy beds. The kitchen was stocked with essentials: blender, coffee pot, basic dishes, grater, pots and pans and soaps for running the dishwasher. The pools were spectacular and we loved the swim up bar! The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. All the appliances and the AC worked well in our unit but the elevator was out and we were on the third floor ( a bit inconvenient when coming home tired after days excursions). The staff at this property were a WONDERFUL asset. Kay in the Aqua Marina, Severino our bartender, and Edwin, one of our drivers, went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. The security and workers greeted us daily and were all conscious and pleasant. This location is within walking distance to restaurants and they provide a shuttle to the main street if you dont care to walk.

Room Tip: We were 3rd floor, building 3, but this provided an awesome view of sunset and the beach but did require a "hike" up the hill.

Rooms are really nice, we had deluxe studio with a kitchen, nice view, good location, definitely one of the best hotels in St Martin at this moment. Shame the people working there ruin whole experience, they always act like they don’t care, so don’t expect any good service.
