We stayed in the Flambouyant Villa, at Stonefield Estates Villa. It was definitely the room with the view. We made friends with some of the others staying at the resort and saw their views-- ours was always tops. With that said however there is really no bad view from any of the rooms. What we wanted was a St Lucia experience not just an all inclusive hotel. The Villas were located about a mile hike into town- we hiked probably every other day to get supplies to make some dinner or get some of the countries yummy Piton Beer. In July it's Mango season and they were everywhere- you could just pick them up and eat them. They were fantastic. The hotel had a complementary breakfast which was amazing and helped to fill you up- also a free ride down and back to sugar beach. We stayed for 9 Days which was right around perfect. Its hard to leave the Villas when you have such a fantastic pool - which was always clean, just the right temp, and never too much chlorine. Our villa had a full kitchen which I would suggest if you plan on staying more than 3 days because the Mango tree has amazing food but dinner can get to be very spendy. The Villas also came with a safe that you set the code to so no one knows- so we felt comfortable leaving our expensive things such as iPads, iPhones, wallets, rings, ect. They had a Iphone radio that we were able to connect our iphones to and listen to our music. Also the villas were extremely secluded so we were able to walk around our entire villa and not see anyone villas. We loved being able to have a quick walk into town to eat at some of the little restaurants that were more affordable and more authentic. The people of the country are very friendly and made our experience comfortable. We hiked the Gros Piton- we are both active people and it was quite a workout. I thought we should hike the petite piton for more of a challenge until I we hiked the Gros Piton and I thought that this was more than enough. We also took a water taxi up to Casteries for shopping and to see the capitol and we really enjoyed being able to see the whole island along the way. I would highly recommend our resort, our villa, and visiting the country for anyone looking for a secluded and authentic vacation.
The only side note I would write would be to pack lots of bug spray. They have lots of sand fleas that live in the wood and bite at your ankles. You cant see them but you end up itching a lot later. We found that it helps a lot to spray your shins, calfs, ankles and feet before hanging out on deck. Also put down the bug nets around the bed at night to risk anything coming in :)
