We are here right now. I am sitting in a beautiful tropical backyard enjoying my book. We went to Sun Bay yesterday and today - it is worth it to walk all the way down Sun Bay to the end - exquisite. The house is lovely and so fully stocked! Ivonne is so nice and so friendly! The house is nestled in its own tropical forest in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, yet close to everything!

“Best access to Vieques w/ EVERYthing you need right here”

I glance outside today, and watch the rain pummel the colorful October leaves loose from the gnarled maple branches I begin to daydream about the coming winter. And as much as I love the first few months of winter in Upstate NY, I can't not think about when we will get back to Vieques and once again stay at Casa Rosita outside of the melacon in Esperanza.

This past stay was our third time to the little island, but our first to Casa Rosita. Our first stay was up in Isabel Segundo and our second trip was at a house up in the hills. Both nice trips, but at Casa Rosita you are sooo very close to the heart of what you're looking for in Vieques. There is an amazing bakery right around the corner for fresh bread and breakfast each morning. A 2-3 minute walk right into town for late night bites and drinks. a 10-15 minute walk and you're in the water on the world's most beautiful beaches - it's all right there.

The house? Couldn't ask for more. The upkeep is superb, and that was honestly a big concern for us when initially renting, but it was beautiful. 2 clean beds with fans and AC in each room. A FULL kitchen stocked with every appliance you could think of needing, Shower and water work great. Backyard shower is fantastic!

The key was easily picked up from the housekeeper across the street who was super friendly. We really couldn't have picked a better spot and plan to come back on our next trip.

As other people have already stated, this fabulous house is in a great location in the small town of Esperanza. The house itself is comfortable and has EVERYTHING that one needs for the beach, cooking (if you opt to do so) and a relaxing time. Ivonne, the caretaker is a lovely person who was most helpful when the possibility of a storm forced us to change our travel plans. The owner, with whom we had phone contact, was also very generous and helpful. The house offers plenty of comfortable space for relaxing and reading. The yard is beautifully landscaped and the outside shower is not to be missed!

“Can't wait to go back to Vieques”

We really enjoyed staying at Casita Rosita, loved the whole Vieques vibe. The house was so comfortable, well equipped, and conveniently located. It's an easy and fun walk in the neighborhood - just a couple of blocks - to town and the Malecon, with places to swim, great views, dining and drinks all within super easy reach. The little grocery around the corner was a good amenity. My family of 4 (including 2 adult "children") had everything we needed here, and we loved having coffee and evening drinks in the back yard. It's hard to tell from the listing, but there is a little bit of a view of the water right from the back patio, which was nice. The caretaker Ivonne lives right down the street and met us at the house upon arrival. She was delightful and so helpful. She is locally known as the "Flan Lady" for good reason - her flan was addictive, and our daughter Madison enjoyed practicing Spanish with her. We went on the bio bay tour with Malaya's Tours (Jimmy was our guide) and it was just great! All the Vieques beaches are easily reached by car, and all worth visiting. The snorkeling at Mosquito Pier (Jimmy recommended) was terrific and easy. We'd love to come back sometime and stay a lot longer because 3 days was NOT enough. The owner Rosie was very responsive by email and helped so much with our questions and plans. We felt welcome, safe, and had a super vacation.

Liked best: The close proximity to town.
Liked least: I always prefer staying right at the beach, but it's just not really an option there. There was so much personality and local flavor, I didn't miss staring at the water during all waking hours. :)

“Very Nice place that met all our needs”

The house was absolutely perfect for us. It had anything and everything one would need. The kitchen was well stocked as was the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. The supplies for the beaches were plentiful and had everything one would need.

Liked best: The kitchen was fully stocked and the local market was literally around the corner.
Liked least: We prefer it colder at night while we sleep and the air conditioner was great in the living/kitchen area. However, it didn't do much to cool the bedrooms.
