This restaurant has an interesting theme. Was recommended to us and we do not regret it. We received the direct attention of the Owner. The food and service was excellent. We liked that they provide valet parking which is a great advantage for the area.

This places amazing. Is puertorrican food like the grandparents used to cook in the country area of Puerto Rico. The ambience and people makes you feel warmth and welcoming. The food is freaking delicious. I’ll give this place a 5+!!!!

We took the recommendations of the uber driver and were not disappointed! All of the food is very good and excellent portions. We received chichaito on the house. Love the fried pork chops, garlic shrimp, carne guisada, and flan!

Thank Christine W

I had heard about La Casita Blanca and then read the reviews on Trip Advisor, so when some friends came to San Juan, and wanted typical Puerto Rican food, I told them about La Casita Blanca, and they were eager to join me as my guest. I was also accompanied by a friend from my office who was only in San Juan for about a week. So off to La Casita Blanca for a very nice lunch on Father's Day. The restaurant just opened and we were immediately offered some complimentary sopa de platano (plaintain soup) which was tasty. We were offered drinks and ordered a pitcher of sangria. Then on to ordering. There were a number of appetizers we tried, which had were made with yuca and plaintains. The best was the tostones with crabmeat and another one that tasted a lot like a potato pancake was likely made with grated yuca. For dinner we each ordered something different. I had the stuffed avocado with crabmeat, one friend had the breaded mero (sea bass), and there was an order of garlic shrimp which tasted pretty much like shrimp scampi. The final dish was a beef dish. The first three dishes were all excellent and the meat dish was average. The service was attentive, the overhead fans kept the restaurant cool and comfortable. The waitress was very attentive and our water glasses were routinely filled up. One felt is as if you were eating in a Puerto Rican home and it was evident that staff had been there for many years. The prices were very reasonable, and with. the sangria, three appetizers and four main courses, the bill was about 110 dollars. And while when we came in there were about two or three other tables filled, when we left people were waiting for tables. There was a band playing music as we left and everyone was having a real nice time.

We enjoyed a very generous local meal served by friendly family and staff ahead of boarding our cruise ship. We wanted an authentic Puerto Rican meal before facing standard cruise ship fare. We were not disappointed. Despite the wide spread hurricane damage, still noticeable in the neighbourhood, the restaurant was clean and welcoming. We look forward to a return visit, and recommend it as a worthwhile stop between the airport and harbour.
