My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Secret's Wild Orchid. It is a beautiful resort with fantastic views of the hills of Montego Bay. The grounds are clean and beautifully manicured. Our room had a swim out pool and was cleaned daily. We felt the food was typical of most 4-5 star resorts in the Caribbean and was very good. Loved the Hibachi restaurant and the very enthusiastic staff. Our Butler Danae was top notch. Having a butler was something we have never experienced before and she really worked hard to make our stay amazing. We booked a spa treatment and were not disappointed. From the professional attitude of the staff including Francois who really stood out, to the relaxing massages, it was all great. This is a really great resort for those looking for a couples holiday. October may not be the best time for those who love to swim in the beach as there are a lot of jelly fish this time of year. Otherwise compares well to other couple type resorts and we would highly recommend it!

Room tip: preferred club is where we stayed and it was great

Just got back from Secret Wild Orchard Jamaica. Had a great time, seven days in the preferred side. Customs and immigration check out was not very long at the Montego Bay airport. We were in our shuttle from Amstar in a matter of 15 minutes waiting for other passengers to board. Travel time to 15 minutes. On arriving at secrets wild orchid we were greeted by this very wonderful enthusiastic guy by the name of Matthew he made the trip of arrival sweet. Matthew brought us into the private lounge in the preferred section. We waited for our turn to be processed in while having our favorite drinks which was not a long wait. Our private concierge processed us in and we were in our room within a matter of 10 to 20 minutes. The room we had a great view and very stylish. Friendly people n always (No problem). food was wonderful and the entertainment was so so. If I was to compare this to Sandals resorts which I have went to quite often they run neck to neck. One of the biggest differences with sandals and secret secrets you have to pay for any water activities like glass bottom boat, snorkeling at Wild Orchid. Sandals all is included with your water sports. The price is also lower WO. The Preferred side is a lot quieter and less traffic but it is also closer to the restaurants and the shops. In The preferred lounge also has a fully stocked bar. They also serve food for breakfast lunch and dinner at the right times. And what also works in the preferred lounge you’ll always ran into at lively Matthew. He is always willing to help give you directions or even take you to where you would like go on the Resort.

My husband and myself visited here for two weeks 29th September to 13th October 2017 what a mistake it was we should have been going to Antigua with Sandals but they had to close for refurbishment on the dates we had.
This is by no way 5* I would give it between 2/3*. Food was poor and waiting time for food was way too long and not always correct and if you said anything they were very rude and would look at you as if you should just shut up and eat what’s in front of you. Some nights in rainy night you would have to wait up to an hour or more to get to sit down the restaurants and not very well thought out because there is no cover for rainy nights so they can only then accommodate to sit inside reducing their seating by up to 50% it’s not rocket science. Cleaning of room very poor our bathroom was not cleaned properly for the whole two weeks, fridge never filled coffee sugar milk had to phone every day because there was always something missing. Majority of the staff were not very friendly and when asking for something the look you would get as if we were putting them out. Staff always holding there hands out for TIPS and being ignored by Piano Bar staff serving those first who had money in their hands to tip. Entertainment was good but you don’t want the same thing every night of the week this must be addressed urgently. On the day before we left we kept being approached by a dodgy looking member of staff asking for cigarettes all the time and emptying ashtrays and taking the ends and putting them in his pocket.
I would not recommend you to anyone and was very disappointed with our stay. Their was one member of staff who always had a smile for us and would always put herself out to help us and others now she is the only 5* I would give she is a credit to you and it’s a shame other staff do not follow in her footsteps and her name is CASHINA pool waitress what a pleasure she was very hard working long days but always polite and has a beautiful smile she deserves to be made up within your company she is a CREDIT.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Friendly staff with good Jamaican sense of humour. Cocktails were flowing freely all day and food was good. The beach areas were clean with plenty loungers. Would definitely recommend.

I can only give 3 stars for this place. 5 days and 12 people. Thank God for my people or else is it would be a 1.
The resort itself is very pretty. Lovely grounds lush and beautiful views. Mountains ocean etc all great. I stayed ocean view not preferred. Preferred was way to boring and quiet for our group.
Pros..close to the airport, fast checkin..sort of. Luggage and drinks good to go. Easy seating for breakfasts, lunches all good. Water bottles in buckets are fabulous.
Cons..takes forever to get a drink..40mins is alot to wait. Goto the bar yourself it's faster. We had towels in the morning..hold onto them all day.
NO MUSIC. what's with that. It was so quiet all day. Nothing, totally weird and then they ask u not to use a speaker when your lounging..why? Music makes it better..always.
The staff at portofino..was so bad. The mains were not great at all. The food portions and presentation was inconsistent and the waiter was the worst ever. I wish I remembered his name but since he wasn't around much..no clue. Only had 1 drink. Had to get our own water pitcher..cause we were so thirsty. Worst meal had, worst service. I could not tip him, it killed me to not. It took 25 mins to get a waiter...to get water..and he was a mess..we couldn't have dessert..because there was NONE .none left??? What. You held up our dinner passed closing time and we couldn't get dessert. He held us up..his service was so slow and so bad.
8 people served..zero dollar left. Sorry.
Otherwise the food was just ok. Nothing but hibachi was fabulous. And that was 1 meal out of 12 and that was for 12 people.
The lack of details for our room..no robes or slippers and yes, they are for everyone not just preferred. We finally got them after 2 calls.
Room service super slow..but we knew that so we planned ahead. Nothing special in our room for our anniversary. Others in our group got rum, flowers candy fruit and cheese plates..us nothing. Again inconsistent.?? Customer service was maybe a 3 out of 5. A lot if attitude and dirty looks. For a job based on customer service...you all fail miserably.
Again, beautiful views, great club at night, heavy on the alcohol...otherwise please go spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
