Pros
The rooms are spacious and clean. The resort is nice and intimate. Liquors are top shelf. The staff is very pleasant. Covid protocols were good. Testing was fast, staff was masked, and tables were sanitized upon seating. Shout out to Melissa, Kyle, Barb, and Zamir for their great service.

Cons
The food is adequate at best. We didn’t leave with one memorable meal with the exception of the Jerk chicken shack. The lobster and scallops served one evening was so salty it was inedible.

Mini fridge is not stocked daily. Apparently under covid protocols you need to request to have it to be re-stocked, which we did multiple times, to no avail. I spoke to management and we finally got it fully stocked – they day before we were to leave.

Complementary Snorkeling. Signed up the day before. They day of snorkeling we were told it was too windy and we could try again the following day. When we showed up the next day, we were told it is complementary only on certain days and that we could snorkel but we would have to pay. I brought this issue to management and they explained that the watersports were sub-contracted, and they had no control over their polices. Ok, well then don’t advertise it on the Zoetry website.

Also, if you paddleboard, there is only one paddle board. So not sure why the website shows plural.

Coffee shop. Coffee shops opens at 6:00 am, except when it doesn’t. Which is every day. Today I waited until 6:40 am and still no one showed. I went to the front desk to request they find someone to serve the coffee and was told that the shop didn’t open until 7:00 am, which was a lie. They admitted that the coffee shop opening on time was an issue. So, I requested a small pot of coffee that I could take to the room for my wife and I and was told we needed to wait until room service open at 7:00 am.

And this is where the issue lies, there is a culture of “can’t” instead of “how can we accommodate this person.” On all the other resorts we have stayed in Jamaica the emphasis is around how they can accommodate the customer.

This issue with this resort in our opinion is the failure of management to manage expectations. I understand we are coming out of covid. If the restaurant is having a staffing issue, then place a sign at the coffee shop/bar that says we are short staffed, please ask any of the staff people to find the coffee/bartender.

If covid protocols say that the mini-bar will be stocked upon request, hand on a placard that’s says “restocked upon request.” Don’t hand me a keycard that says stocked twice daily.

If the coffee shop isn’t open, and a customer requests something, find a way to accommodate them. Don’t tell them they have to wait. We are the ones paying for a 4 ½ star experience. It’s the little things that make-or-break a resorts reputation.

On short, we won’t be returning to this resort. We paid for too much for a 3 ½ star experience.

The staff did a great job with COVID protocols, but COVID meant the resort was maybe half full. So not everything was open or offered per the website. Out trip was short so it was not a big issue for us, but someone staying a week or more might get weary of the same dining choices. COVID testing was well organized and we had no problems getting our results before our flight back.

Pros:
Huge rooms
Great pool area
Clean, well maintained resort
Only 15 mins from the airport
Very friendly and accommodating staff
Good food
Brand name liquor
Jerk shack for late afternoon shade and ice cold Red Stripes

Cons:
Beach, ok for sunbathing, not for swimming
Road noise and planes overhead
Polo Lounge served no food and only occasionally had a bartender.

I know COVID has made things difficult and a half full resort means things need to be scaled back. We were happy just to be able to travel again and Zoetry was a good choice.

Really good resort to stay at. They do offer all inclusive with your stay. It’s a small resort but that’s what I like most about it. For such a small resort there is plenty of activities for you and your loved ones to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Zoetry Montego Bay was a very pretty property and we had a very nice suite with a direct ocean view. The food, wine and rum was also much better than I would have expected at an all-inclusive.

However, what really makes the Zoetry special is the staff. Tanille at the front desk, took care of us with amazing care from before arrival when I was arranging a private dinner at their gazebo at the end of the pier (a lovely experience), through checking in on us daily via text during our stay to helping us get our return trip Covid test results (even though it was her day off)! Stacey, the waitress, took special care of us when we were running late and stressed one morning and then for the rest of our stay. Chef Nadia even came out from the kitchen at Conoa restaurant and asked us if she could make us anything special for lunch the next day - she came through with an amazing off the menu seafood dish. The staff turned our experience from great to absolutely wonderful.

My husband and I stayed at the Zoetry for our honeymoon. We loved that this resort had a more quiet/private/romantic vibe. The staff is very kind, the food and drink is delicious, and the views are incredible. Our room was clean, and we had plenty to do. We signed up for a few excursions off the resort, but also enjoyed several days on the beach, at the pool and at the spa.
