The property was nice and well maintained. The staff worked hard to please. The food was good but not great. I was disappointed so many guests smoked and were allowed to smoke in public areas. I was also disappointed children were allowed in the pool with the swim up bar. This pool should be an adult or teen and adult pool only. There was another nice pool with a sloped entry. Children should have been there. I would also like to see family dining hours earlier and adult dining areas later. I didn't want to hear crying children while eating my meal. The beach was nice. I also wish they would run a few shuttles back and forth to the mall in Punta Cana. Cab fares were expensive. There wasn't much opportunity to buy souvenirs.

Room tip: Swim up rooms looked very cool.

one of the best hotels my wife and I have stayed in,all the staff are very friendly and polite,we had meals in all the a la carte restaurants never had a problem booking our favourites was zen and steakhouse,we booked a swim up room and it was amazing,we would spend all afternoon sunbathing and swimming in our own pool,the beech was beautiful ,as I am a early riser it was perfect for a nice stroll on the beech early morning then straight to the coffee shop for a nice lattae coffee,evening entertainment was good especially the Michael Jackson show. I would like to give special thanks to bar tenders angelo,luis and alexander in the lobby bar very enjoyable in the evenings.also jose-luis he kept our room immaculate. also Antonio our butler for his attention,we payed extra for the diamond package but did NOT think this was value for money the extra touches was nice and you had a different coloured wristband,diamond club had separate beech area and bar BUT we noticed any body could use the same facilities,i would deffinately return but would not book the diamond club.

a very good hotel, everything was perfect. However, there were various workers (man) that talked to us ( my girl friends) in an inappropriate way. Someone even offered to sleep with me. you should check that.

What a holiday………The Royalton Punta Cana was excellent value for money. The all-inclusive package was what it said on the tin.
The hotel and facilities were of a very high standard. The service and quality of the food were excellent. My fiancée and I had some reservations prior to going due to some of the negative responses on Trip Advisor, mainly from Americans and Canadians. How wrong I was.
The staff in the hotel from the porters to the Bar and Restaurant staff were polite considerate and bent over backwards to meet our needs.
There were a variety of places to eat, all serving a choice of food that had something to meet everyone’s taste. You could receive table service or buffet service if you preferred. We ate in a different restaurant most nights throughout the holiday and on a couple of occasions we had room service at no extra cost. All the restaurants were well ventilated and had Air Con. The ZEN restaurant was the only one you needed to reserve a place for. I would suggest you do the ZEN at least once throughout your stay. The Chefs were entertaining and food was of the highest quality cooked in front of you. Just make sure you are hungry before you go in…….
I would recommend the Martini Bar for drinks the team Miguel, Angel, Gabriela, Otis and Johnathan were great entertainment as well as serving drinks from a well-stocked bar with good quality and branded spirit and cocktails.
There was a Costa style coffee shop that served “help yourself” ice cream with toppings and a variety of snacks and drinks, which were all part of the package….however in week 2 our clothes began to shrink!!!!
The evening entertainment was good with something different on every night.
Each of the accommodation buildings were staffed by a member of the Royalton team. Erick was the receptionist in building 1. He was a font of all knowledge and gave good and valuable advice in regards to places to visit. Safety was at the forefront throughout the resort particularly the pool and children’s areas.
The rooms were of a high standard and were serviced twice daily; you could have clean sheets and towels daily if required. The mini bar was well stocked and refilled daily. For the ladies…there is a very good magnifying mirror and air dryer in the room, you may wish to leave yours at home to assist with your luggage allowance. The excursions were well run and safety was paramount. The Thomson holiday reps Monica and Jacob were in the hotel daily and were easy contactable. My fiancée had a serious hair malfunction at the start of the holiday….she forgot her hairspray!!!! The shops didn’t stock any, however the reps managed to get some for her and saved the holiday and I receiving a lot of grieve….
ALL IN ALL a great holiday and resort………5 star time was had by both of us!!!

We were recommended The Royalton by our travel agent 'Thomsons' and as we had never been to the Dom Rep before we decided to try it. From the time that we arrived at The Royalton we were very pleased with our choice. All the staff from check in to check out and everyone in between were exceptional, helpful and friendly. A special shout goes out to Madeline Diaz working out of Dips Pool Bar who serviced us with beverages all and every day be it if we were on the beach or around the pool area, also to Marielly who ensured we had no problems with our stay and made us feel part of the Royalton family.
The room was serviced every day, the bed was sooooo comfortable it was a struggle to get out of it on some mornings.
All the restaurants were fab apart from The Mexican and 'Under the Sea' at Memories Resort which were disappointing, food and service needs addressing at both.
We really liked the idea of your room key being on your wrist band, whoever thought of that idea deserves a big shiny gold medal, so simple but brilliant.
The gym area is far too small for the amount of people who wish to use the facility.
Saying all of the above we did have one issue, this was with a large group of teenagers that were loud and boisterous banging doors early and late, shouting and playing loud music both by the pool and in the accomadation block and it seemed they were un supervised during their stay. However, after talking to Guest Services they stationed two security guards to keep the peace.
Overall our stay was amazing and we would recommend this hotel to all our friends.
