We were told that February is one of the months chances of seeing whales in Dominica are greatest, but we did not expect to see quite as many as we did. And we did not have to sail far to reach the family group who, as our guides told us, often reside in this area. For about 2 hours we were able to photograph and enjoy these impressive animals, while the crew answered our questions and supplied us with juice. Then it was time to relax, enjoy the views of the island from our catamaran (rain showers on land and a perfect rainbow to add the perfect touch), while enjoying the delicious rum punch served by the crew. All in all, a perfect afternoon. Highly recommended.

We took two trips with the Anchorage crew. The first time, we went all over and found no whales at all, which the crew said was extremely unusual for February (the number they quoted was 95% success rate). The second time, we had to go a very long way out, but we did find a group of sperm whales and got quite close to them for a few minutes. Because it was so far, we ended up getting back very late, but it shows that the crew is definitely trying hard.

The boat is quite nice - it's a large catamaran with both an engine and sails. It has many seats and a couple of large cargo nets in the front that you can stand or lie on. Andrew, the main "whale whisperer", is very knowledgeable and well-spoken. He starts the trip with a briefing about sperm whales and then does a good job of explaining what's going on while the whales are there. The crew serves various kinds of juice or soda during the trip, and then (very good, made at the hotel bar) rum punches on the way back.

Overall, definitely worth doing.

Informative and friendly staff. Unfortunately we did not see any
whales on our trip but I'm still satisfied. I would do it again, my friend has been 4,5 times and has seen Whales on every occasion except this time.
