We spent one week at Bijblauw and could not have been more pleased with the property. The employees are super helpful and friendly and accomidated all of our needs. The room was spacious and the bathroom and shower huge. Everything was brand new and super clean. The air conditioning worked very well and all ammenities were great. The best part of our room was the huge sun porch which we loved and used daily,. We snorkeled daily a few times right in front of the hotel
and saw tons of sea life. We could not have been more happy with our stay and highly recommend Bijblauw.

Room tip: Fiddler on the Roof with accompanying terrace.

This was our first trip to Curacao and found the BijBlauw on Expedia. We had a great experience staying at BijBlauw. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel, the room was charming and the bed was extremely comfortable. The restaurant overlooks the water and is a great place to have breakfast, dinner or just drinks (we went several times). No matter how busy they were, the staff was always attentive and willing to take the time to talk with us. Lastly, the location of this hotel in the Peitermaai district was great. Everything was within walking distance and we found some charming places to have a drink and some food. Overall, I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at the BijBlauw. If we return to Curacao, we will definitely stay here again.

I had a lovely stay in BijBlauw Hotel. The hotel is located directly at the seaside. It is wonderful to have breakfast or dinner at the hotel terrace while watching the sea and deserve the amazing food. The chef is excellent.

BijBlauw has a great team which let you feel good. The team gave me some inside tips to explore the island including visiting the Curacao Liqueur Distillery. Cuaraco has wonderful beaches like Mambo Beach, Great Knip or Playa Kalki. I made a hiking tour to Sint Christoffelberg. The trail is pretty steep in the end. But the view from the top is marvelous. It was funny to find a Christmas tree on the top of the mountain.

My trip was exciting and recreative. BijBlauw hotel gave me the opportunity to experience something wonderful.

Room tip: great place to explore the island

We booked with BijBlauw on a recommendation from a friend, and it turned out to be an amazing choice. The location meant we could walk to a huge number of restaurants, as well as to the downtown area with all the museums and historic sights. The room was great, we had a terrace overlooking the beach that made for fantastic sunsets (and a place to dry our scuba gear). While the building is clearly historic, all the fixtures were super-modern and elegant. Just next door to the hotel there's a cosy cafe called Beans, meaning hunting down breakfast was a 5-minute task rather than an all-morning endeavor. The ocean behind the hotel was a little rough, but one of our group went swimming safely there almost every single day. As for the rest - super comfy bed, plenty of electrical outlets, but do bring along some converters if you're using US plugs, several were provided but we had lots of equipment to charge. We'll absolutely be returning to BijBlauw the next time we travel to Curaçao!

I just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at BijBlauw hotel. Here are my impressions:

EXCELLENT:

—Room 9: I decided to splurge and booked the signature double room with the sea view, and am so glad I did! The room is located in the far back of the (green) building on the second floor, with a fantastic (!) patio overlooking the sea. The furnishings in and out are seaside rustic to go with the building, yet comfortable, with high ceilings (with fans) and wall-mounted A/C that worked extremely well. Nice bathroom, plenty of storage space, and two room entrances (through main building, or down private stairs off patio.) Light sleepers or those who like to go to bed early may have trouble with the noise from the restaurant below, but I am neither so not a problem for me in the least. (Note: the king bed consists of two smaller mattresses together, so avoid sleeping in the groove.)

—Location: If you want to be very close to the historic core of Willemstad, while staying in the hip and regenerating Pietermaai district, BijBlauw is perfect. Lots of things to see on foot, good restaurants (including in the hotel), and a perfect location immediately on the water! (Note: there is no close beach access, if that’s what you’re looking for.)

—Staff: Very polite and made you feel welcome. From checkin/out, to the restaurant (and bartender), to housekeeping, all were very pleasant and helpful. (Note: reception closes at 7:00, but with restaurant open later, it never felt insecure.)

Overall I had a wonderful stay at BijBlauw, and will certainly return again (to same room as well) on my next trip to Curacao.

Dear ASU_DrK,

We love your eloborate review! Thank you for taking the time to write it.
We are also looking into the notes that you mentioned, for example the bed. We do have mattress toppers to make the beds even more comfortable and we will certainly be more careful to make sure they are put on the beds the way they should.

We are looking forward to welcoming you again!
