Havana did a great job in restoring the Old City. There is plenty to see, eat, drink and enjoy and it can be done quite easily by foot. Highly recommended.

Havana is the kind of place you can spend a ton of time just walking around and getting to see it all. It's safe all hours of the day and night. There is a lot of beautiful architecture and art to see.

Tips:
> I'd recommend getting a guided tour so you know more about what you're taking in.
> I wish we had done more research to know where to eat and drink, since internet access is so limited. Map out the highly rated spots while you still have internet!
> Wear close-toed shoes as the streets can be pretty dirty (as in any city).
> It got colder at night than i expected (late march) so i wish i would have packed another sweater
> The city is very walkable, but there are taxis everywhere. Always ask what the trip costs before you get in.

Crowded, dusty, noisy, swelteringly hot, music on every street, spontaneous dancing, hustle & bustle , steeped in history and absolutely charming. Closely knitted communities, living in almost derelict buildings, the poverty is everywhere but the warm welcome from everyone and their positive attitudes and undeniable hope for a better future overcomes everything. Can't help but fall in love with these wonderful people and this wonderful place. Teaches a person to be humble, to count our blessings and to be thankful for all that we have - give greed a rest!

Very well conseved area . Nice narrow streets to wAlk about and around . Music in different corners still however exposes the regular Cuban struggle.
