The first two weeks of November we were the first guests of Casa Vigorosa at Bonaire. We are very familiar with Aruba and Curacao and were excited to visit Bonaire for the first time as well!
As we landed at the airport we were welcomed by the owner of the car rental 'Bonaire Rent a Car’, she escorded us to our car and explained how to drive to the house. This is a service Leanne (the owner of Casa Vigorosa) offers to her guests and gives you the opportunity to rent a car. You need a car at Bonaire. The trip from the car rental to the house is less than 10 minutes and is easy to find also in the dark.
As we arrived at the house we were welcomed by the hostess with drinks and some snacks. She explained us all the important things you need to know about the house and the island. This gave us a very good feeling, especially when you arrive at night it's nice to arrive with all the lights on and a local present.
As a woman I experienced Bonaire as a safe and comfortable island. The house is also very safe and all measures are taken to make sure your belongings are safe as well.
The house is very luxurious and the kitchen is equipped with all you can think off. Outside there is also the possibility to BBQ. Even though you will probably spend all your time outside on the spacious patio, inside is very comfortable decorated in case you want to watch some movies or relax. Included are books, magazines and tons of movies.
The house has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. We stayed in the master bedroom with connected bathroom. The spa like interior gave us a luxurious feeling. Good to know is that bathtowels, beach towels and everything is present in the house. There is also the possibility to use the washing machine for your laundry during your stay.
Outside is a specious patio which provides shadow during the day. There is always a nice summer breeze present. The swimmingpool is in the sun, it has a very deep part but also an undeep place with seating. Around the swimmingpool are comfortable seats, a Fatboy and loungebeds. We've spend many hours reading, chilling and relaxing in the shade around the pool and on the patio.
Bonaire is an island with many possibilities for diving. Casa Vigorosa facilitates divers and people who snorkel by providing an extra shed for all your equipment and an outside shower. Perfect!
The location of Casa Vigorosa is pefect! It is nearby all the most important places but you do need a car as mentioned before. Our facorite places were Sorobon for the perfect beach day and Kralendijk for nice lunches and coffee. The island provides various restaurants with a wide range of pricing.
The house is also nearby the Donkey Sanctuary but the animals are also walking around the island. These donkeys are hilarious!
Overall we had a fantastic, luxurious, relaxing vacation and we wish to come back soon. We've had a great experience with the island, the people, the nature and of course the house which really felt like home after two weeks of vacation.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
