We booked this for a 50th Birthday, and this was our first time in Barbados. The hotel is twinned with Coral Mist and they do share facilities, which is almost seamless, The hotel is right next to the sea! with lovely beach, pools and plenty of sun beds. Our room was on the third floor, with lovely views and was clean and comfortable. By Western standards the room is a little dates, but not to a point of being unpleasant, and with housekeeping visiting daily beds and towels are always fresh and clean. The hotel is really well placed, 10 mins walk to the left or right and you will find plenty of places to eat and drink, or get provisions to make meals in the kitchen within the room. With that, if you offered a B&B option, don't take the breakfast. The worst was a 2 hour wait for Continental Breakfast, which is not self service, it just got funny in the end as it was clear the kitchen were waiting for the shops to open so they could provision. So yes we would go again, the rooms and location are great, but look upon this as self catering, not so much a hotel.

Room Tip: Best views are on the upper floors, ground floors beach facing means your closest to the sea or pool

Stayed here many years ago and re-visited on a business trip. Hotel was just about to close for a refurbishment. Rooms were a little tired but staff very friendly and would love to return to see how things are now.

Room Tip: Try to get away from main road.

stayed at the Blue Orchids for the 26th time April 2018. Rooms brighter and cleaner since the upgrade from last year, Great hotel and excellent staff. Usually stay in D404 o r E211, stayed in D402. Nice room but not as spacious at 404 but quieter. Very comfortable with a nice water view

Room Tip: if you don't mind stairs then D 4th fllor is for you, excellent views

I have lived here for 2 months! I came because I am working in Barbados and this is very close to where I am working. I decided to stay because the staff is so friendly and the hotel is very comfortable and I felt very safe. It's right on the beach on the south coast which is a great beach to swim in and its clean and there are available lounge chairs and umbrellas. The rooms are very spacious, beds and pillows are comfortable, towels are nice and fluffy. Everything is clean and if things don't work for any reason maintenance staff comes quickly and resolves it. Staff are helpful to recommend places to go, restaurants, and traditional sightseeing places in Barbados. There are restaurants, a shopping center, pharmacy, grocery stores, anything you need very close by, walking distance. Its not a business hotel, its a vacation one. Its good for couples and families as well. Any time I come back I will definitely stay here!

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floors have the best views and great breeze. All rooms are spacious and well equipped with kitchenette.
