If you keep your expectations to a minimum and recognize this isn’t a full-fledged resort, you will have a decent — even positive — experience here. Why the distinction? Resorts don’t stop putting out beach towels when they run out at 2 pm. (We asked when they would be replenished and both days the firm response was that they wouldn’t.) Their staff doesn’t say “ What?” When you approach them or worse — nothing but a bored, raised eyebrow. It doesn’t take a resort 45 minutes (with only two other table occupied) to serve your breakfast. Worse, when your carafe of coffee gets cold due to the wait and you ask them to “warm it up a bit, please, but it’s not necessary to fill it,” they then don’t charge two carafes to your bill ($16) and then act annoyed when you point it out and ask for it to be adjusted (to their credit, they did remove it). Now the positives, Carlisle Bay is fairly handy to a walk on the beach to Bridgetown and the horses being groomed there early each morning by the nearby horse track is a treat. A rum punch is provided at arrival — very nice! And, the check in desk team was kind and efficient. Beds are comfy. This hotel is priced right but pick the Hilton next door if you want excellent service and resort amenities. After the breakfast experience, we walked to the Hilton for breakfast and drinks/appetizers. The staff @ the Hilton is top notch.

Towels are generally available throughout the entire day and I do apologise for this miscommunication / inability to provide additional towels at the time of your request. I stayed at the Radisson Aquatica in Barbados, last Sept;the room was clean and comfortable, balcony was a plus for amazing sun rise, beach was beautiful! I found a good pkg on Expedia this June,and I was not disappointed the second time around. I would definitely recommend to fellow travelers.

Stayed here in February 2018 and as soon as we arrived we loved it. Reception staff were very welcoming and our room was lovely - two double beds which meant that as it was so warm, we could sleep alone if it got too warm. The room was spacious and kept spotless by the lovely housekeeping staff. The only downside was that we were on the side of the hotel looking towards The Boatyard which although we had a glorious idea of the beach and Kensington Oval etc, we missed seeing the racehorses come down early each day for a swim! They were in the other side sadly. Breakfast was great - plenty of choice from lots of fresh fruit to a freshly cooked breakfast. It was wonderful to sit in the restaurant which sat over the sea and be amused by the local sparrows who kept hopping through hoping to pick up crumbs! We had dinner there once and sadly were very disappointed. After a 45 minute wait, Our meals didn’t arrive together so my partner and I effectively ate alone. When my meal drives it was cold! However, the staff replaced it very quickly. Only blot on our stay was a barman who was pretty rude one night, actually refused to serve us as it was almost 11pm. He did apologise profusely the morning after but the day after that, he was equally moody. However none of that spoiled our stay and we would definitely re-visit. The hotel sits right on the beach so never short of su beds and fresh beach towels; the guy who looked after the beach was great - nothing was too much trouble. Location is v good, two minutes walk to a bus stop and taxis could be booked at the hotel. Not many places to walk to at night though.

Room Tip: Either side is a great view but if you want to catch sight of the race horses early morning, ask for room looking towards the Hilton

From my arrival at the resort to when we had to leave (sniff, sniff) our experience has been the greatest. Giselle ensured that our needs were taken care of. The hospitality of the entire staff have us looking forward to visiting Barbados again hopefully soon.
The horses on the beach in the morning, the beach the atmosphere all excellent.
I recommend this resort to anyone visiting Barbados.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the pool have a great view of the pool and beachfront.
