Always have a great experience at Crown and Anchor - but two especially wonderful ones this past 2 weeks. First, my friend's birthday where the concierge made last minute adjustments to our reservation and made sure our "ladies tea" was wonderful - and by "tea" it was "adult tea" (wink, wink). Even had birthday cake and special menus items. Olga, our waitress that I have had many times before took great care of us, and our drinks never were dry. The maitre'd came over to check on us multiple times to make sure everything was perfect.
Then Saturday "Zuill BBQ" - so, so good. Now, as former Louisiana residents, this was not traditional Southern BBQ, but a great mix of Caribbean, Bermudian and Southern BBQ. Omar, our waiter went above and beyond - substituting some menu items for others, getting my son grilled cheese (not on the menu), keeping our drinks topped off and keeping the heaters blowing on my freezing friend. Chef Zuill himself came over to check on us - he makes a mean jalapeno cornbread. The wahoo and barbacoa chicken were amazing as well. Desserts were bite sized and just right.
The setting is beautiful, the service - Olga and Omar as well as everyone from the doormen to the bathroom attendant were polite, personable and professional. We keep coming back because although it's pricey, we feel like cherished company not customers.
