We had dinner at Scoff the night after eating at the Fogo Island Inn. We collectively agreed as a family that Scoff was a superior dining experience (regardless of the significant and favorable cost difference). The duck confit (on a touton base) was exceptional, as was the poutine. The main courses used local ingredients with a twist that resulted in sensational flavors. The staff, music, and décor were all fantastic which only added to the overall experience. My two daughters hung out with the kitchen staff and watched them through the faux window at the back of the restaurant. The beers, mocktails and deserts were also unique and delicious. I would highly recommend this to anyone who happens to be in the area. We will definitely return!

The Scoff started out to be somewhere nice to eat while visiting Fogo Island.

As a group of travelling photographers, we were looking for a nice place to eat on our last day, and the restaurant was more than accommodating. They arranged a six course meal to be passed around the table just like a family dinner. Not one dish could be considered less then excellent. The restaurant doesn't seem to have a signature item, but instead is consistently beyond expectations. Everyone raved, and continues to do so days later.

The Scoff isn't somewhere nice to eat in Joe Batt's Arm, it is a reason to go.

It is an understatement to rate this as the best Fogo Island restaurant outside of the Fogo Island Inn (which we have not personally experienced). There are very few establishments with which to compare Scoff on Fogo I. Instead let's say this was a superb evening, from the setting to the unique food to the service. We would recommend this to anyone, anywhere. Staff wisely recommends selecting a variety of the distinctive small plates to share. The duck confit toutons led us to the house-smoked salmon (local) with pickled shrimp (local) which we finished with sliced steak paired with grilled kale potato salad dressed with shrimp aioli. These even left room for chocolate banana pie and rhubarb crunch sundae. Fresh, creative, local and yummy!

A must go for any visitor to Fogo Island! This new restaurant owned and operated by alumni of the legendary Fogo Island Inn is a real homespun treat. Great atmosphere serving delicious local food with a new twist, accompanied by traditional Newfoundland hospitality and reasonable prices.
The salt cod pierogis are delectable. Of course the fish and chips are a staple. Salmon and Pickled Shrimp were highly rated by two members of our party.
Best of luck to the entrepreneurs who have just opened up this delightful restaurant.
