We absolutely loved this place and would definitely go back there. It is superbly clean and the kitchen was extremely well kitted out. The whole place is decorated very charmingly and highlights the ancient character of the house while still feeling contemporary, clean and spacious
The beds are comfortable and sheets 100% cotton. Be aware that one bedroom has a double bed (150cm wide) and the other has 2 singles pushed together. This was absolutely fine for us but others may be more particular.
The shower was excellent and both bathrooms were comfortable. There is handsoap, hair drier and even some basic first aid items, and toilet paper of course. Towels are nice and fluffy and the hot water consistent.
We were there in the depth of winter, and the house was cozy and warm.
Wifi is perfect if you're in the living room where the router is. Due to the thick walls it can sometimes be patchy in other rooms, but it is mostly fine.
The house is on 3 levels, so if you have mobility issues be aware that there are stairs.
The location is fantastic too. There is a butcher and baker 5 mins walk from the house, and a supermarket in nearby Chinon. Of course the main draw of the area is the many castles.
The hosts are charming with excellent communication. They gave a great "induction" session, showing us how everything works.
According to the contract, the house must be left in the same state of cleanliness as when you arrive. For us it was a bit unclear exactly what is required, so I recommend to discuss this at the beginning with your hosts. There is an option to pay for additional cleaning at the end of the stay if you have maybe stayed there for a long time and it got excessively dirty.
Be aware, at the end there is a weird "city tax" to be paid - 79c per person per night. This seems to be a thing in France, and is always paid at the end of the stay.
All in all, this is a super rental and I would not hesitate to recommend it!
