“A Week of Bliss”
Reviewed 15 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

I had the wonderful privilege of staying at the Anam Cara Villa for a week with my husband and four other couples. There is absolutely enough room in this grand airy villa for five couples to enjoy each other's company and still find a quiet nook to read, stargaze, do photography, or take a beautiful private beach stroll. Every single accessory in the kitchen and bath/shower areas is top notch. The pool area is grand with many lovely lounges, lush tropical plantings and outstanding water views. During my life I have been fortunate to have traveled to many of the Caribbean islands as far back as 1970. Without a doubt, Virgin Gorda, is the most safe, stable, and pristinely beautiful ( with lovely, friendly locals) of all the gorgeous Caribbean islands. * Best part- The villa is situated so that you feel total privacy and seclusion and yet within a matter of 15-20 minutes are able to reach , by water taxi, world class yacht clubs and enjoy their bars, restaurants and beach amenities.

“Paradise Defined!”
Reviewed 13 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Paradise Defined! Pure and simple – there is nothing better. Having visited and stayed in Virgin Gorda 3 times in the past several years, there is no question that Anam Cara captures the very best of the Island. The privacy, waterfront location, panoramic views, exquisite design features, contemporary appliances, comfortable beds and furniture put this house among the top residences on Virgin Gorda. Just a few minutes around the corner is Leverick Bay and the free water taxi from Gun Creek to The Bitter End Yacht Club where you can cruise over in just a few minutes to enjoy a wonderful and very reasonably priced buffet lunch with unlimited Rum Grog!!

We shared the house with 4 other couples and had a marvelous time enjoying each other's turn cooking dinner for everyone on a designated night and the room to dine together and commiserate about the day's activities. There was ample room throughout the house to spread out yet enjoy private time and space when wanted. The individual en-suites with their own private indoor and outdoor showers provided an unforgetable regal touch and experience.

The constant trade winds directly off the water ensured cooling comfort throughout the day and night as well as preventing any flying insects from invading this slice of paradise – an added bonus of this spectacular location. The large pool with fiber-optic nighttime lighting creates a magical feel that adds an entirely different dimension to the fantastic infinity edge feature that looks out to the open ocean.

If you have never experienced any of the US or British Virgin Islands, and are planning a first time stay, do yourself an enormous favor and reserve an extraordinarily wondrous experience at Anam Cara that will provide an unforgettable lifetime of memories. If you have been to Virgin Gorda and are looking for the perfect location and accommodations, particularly with an extended family or a group of friends – don't pass up the opportunity to indulge yourself at Anam Cara. The only problem – you will want to return again and again.

“so much fun”

So much to do, good food, convenience shopping, boat ferries to waterside dining on Saba Rock and rub elbows with celebrity world travelers at Bitterend.
Learn to kite sail at Saba Rock. Partake of local home cooking about a mile away- fish and chicken grilled fresh on Fridays. Sunset views from mountain tops at Hog Heaven, a 5 minute ride away. Sail boat rental for the day took us to snorkeling at a couple of remote islands or snorkel right outside the front door. Hibiscus and bougainvillea wander up the landscape around the pool, attracting song birds to entertain us after our refreshing swim in the pool. Do a lot, or do nothing. One of our nicest trips ever. PS the housekeeping is immaculate!

“A Special Destination”
Reviewed 12 April 2013 for a stay in February 2013

This is a large, spectacular, private, idyllic house in a unique and picturesque South Sound location. Our bedroom was a suite with a large private bath complete with an indoor and outdoor shower and large tub overlooking South Sound. There is plenty of outdoor lounging space either facing the sound with steady trade winds from the east, or on the patio around the pool. Think "relaxation." The house is within walking distance to the water taxi landing to The Bitter End and other resorts in North Sound. It is also a quick trip over the mountain to Spanish Town, the center of activity on Virgin Gorda. Although the house is wonderful, the real star of our trip was Virgin Gorda itself. Everything about it is relaxing and memorable. One will not find better beaches anywhere in the Caribbean. Savannah Bay and the Baths are simply beautiful. We did some extensive snorkeling at those beaches, and also snorkeled with great success in South Sound in front of the house. One of the best things about Virgin Gorda is the people who live there. Without exception, they are warm, friendly and helpful. We never had the slightest concern about security or safety, unlike our experience in the U.S. Virgins. Although there are several ways to get to VG, we found that flying non-stop to San Juan, followed by a 40 minute puddle jumper flight was the easiest. We will definitely return to BVI and Anam Cara.

“Anam Cara”
Reviewed 12 March 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Anam Cara- This villa is terrific. It looks out above a very secluded bay; it is very private and surrounded by nature: sealife, birds, and animals. The night time skies are brilliantly clear and starry. All the rooms are spacious and have great views, and there are comfortable places everywhere for eating, viewing and relaxing.
Outside, there are plenty of things to do and places to go. Snorkeling is probably the first order of business, and the island beaches are gorgeous. A beach called the ‘The Baths’ and one called Spring Bay have some amazing rock formations.
The island people are pleasant, the weather is unbeatable, and the food is great.
Very pleasant and enjoyable.
