Well located, adults only (no under 16yrs), lovely pool, right on the beach / lagoon (free use of equipment to explore the lagoon and see the coral and beautiful sea life), great place to have happy hour drinks, watch the sunset and then have a meal (with live entertainment most nights).

We stayed in a one bedroom villa, which showed its age a tiny bit but was very comfortable, roomy and perfect for our needs.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful but.....Tina on the front desk was a super helpful star. Sammy (resort maintenance) always greeted you with a smile and happy conversation (even when at the Saturday markets and after having only met us the day before).

Room tip: Villas 15 & 16 are well / centrally located - adjust blinds / curtains / windows to manage privacy and minor people noise.

There are many aspects of the Crown Beach that are worthy of 5 stars:

The staff - super friendly, very helpful, and very good at remembering you/your room number/your birthday!
The beach - very peaceful and great snorkelling right on your doorstep.
Flambe restaurant - genuinely good food. Our experience of food in Pacific Islands (Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa) has been variable in the past. This is without a doubt the best restaurant we've dined at in the Pacific.
The room - we had a villa with a private pool. Spacious and very comfortable. Pool was bit on the chilly side, but refreshing on a hot day! And room was a little dark at times, but at least it was in the shade. Aircon and fan worked well to cool it too.

A couple of aspects that made it miss a full 5 star review for us:

Gym - pretty 'tired' equipment. Spin bike was almost non-functioning (and couldn't get the seat high enough (at 180cm tall, I'm no giant!)). And the other 'walker' machine had no power - so the display didn't work. Otherwise, it was just a collection of free weights and an old exercise bench. Whole gym needs a refresh IMO.
Breakfast at Oceans restaurant (included in our package) was underwhelming. Lots of beige carb and processed food (baked beans, hash browns, waffles etc). Rukau (bolied taro leaves) and grilled tomatoes were nice however! More green/healthy options like that needed.

But all in all, we had a great week here. Would definitely recommend!

We are pleased to advise that we have updated our Breakfast menu which will now be a permanent feature for all our in house guests and have indeed re-looked at having healthier options for all our guests given the ever changing dietary requirements.

The resort is in the process of also updating our Gym equipment, to ensure that guests using the gym have a good and enjoyable experience.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future.

What an amazing place!

My (now wife) and I had our wedding and accomodation at the Crown and words cannot express just how awesome our time spent here was.

We had 5 nights, in a private courtyard pool suite which was the best accomodation we have ever stayed in.
Amazing food, scenery and resort with a very peaceful beach within a minutes walk.
Crown Beach is smaller than other resorts and adults only so a very relaxing getaway, we had friends stay at other hotels and the beaches at their hotels were just flooded with people.

In regards to the wedding, everything was taken care of. Emails and a phone calls with simple questions and it was practically sorted and stress free.
Unfortunately before we came over, the bride to be got the flu which was at its worst on the actually wedding day.
Leilani and her team were so helpful and supportive and organised a quick visit with the doctor, delayed the wedding by a few hours and rescheduled everyone and the event for later than afternoon without a fuss.

We really couldn’t recommend Rarotonga, the Crown Beach Resort and Leilani for your holiday or wedding more highly.

Thanks so much again.

This is a gorgeous resort. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. But what makes this place so special is the wonderful friendly staff. Just a quick trip in to town but just as nice to sit on the beautiful beach front or by the pool and let the locals spoil you rotten.

Room tip: In my opinion the best rooms are the ones with a private swimming pool.

After having stayed in another hotel and being disappointed we moved to Crown Beach. Wow, how beautiful. We stayed in a Suite with pool. It was amazing. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The room itself was also spacious. The pool was great for a dip. We were so happy we moved to here.
The staff went out there way to accommodate us, we were so grateful. The breakfast buffet was good, better than ones we've had. Lots of choice and food is covered over which was good. The main pool area is nice to relax and have a swim. The beach is also just down from the restaurant. Great to watch the sunset from. They also have a newsletter showing what activities are available daily. We got taught how to coconut husk which was cool. We don't have any negatives. Loved that it's also an adults only resort.
The only thing I would say(which isn't a negative) but Flambé restaurant that we heard was good was actually shut week nights. The hotel Oceans restaurant is open daily though.
Also it's only a 10 minute drive to the airport.
We will be back.
