Went there and had a great time. This company was VERY well organized and prepared. When we went to the sunrise, they had jackets, gloves, pants, and ear muffs for us. most people there were freezing in shorts and t-shirts except our group. It was only 40 degrees on top of the crater. Our tour guide/driver, Mana, did a great job with history and plants and all. On the way back to the hotel, he reccomended places for us to eat and answered a lot of questions we had. The bike ride was at your own pace, very relaxing and beautiful. We completed the day with the zip line tour which again took safety first and foremost. Very exciting lines. I read a few negative comments, most frequently was that a part like the bike ride being cancelled. I suspect it was due to bad weather which they cannot control. If they do that, it is for your safety. I felt that was their priority along with your fun.

I have to admit that I chose this company over other based exclusively on their website, which is very well done. But this is one case in which the professional look of the site matches the professional approach of the company (something that, sadly, is not always the case).

Skyline is clearly the most organized, experienced, and knowledgeable of these tours out there. My son (7) and I took the Haleakala sunrise tour, which was something he'd be asking about for quite some time. The pick-up was right at our hotel (2am) and was a comfortable ride up the mountain.

Spectacular views and well worth the trip. Be advised, however, that they aren't kidding when they say it's cold. Even for a Chicago Winter veteran like me, this was getting a bit on the chilly side. Rest assured, Skyline provides amble cold weather gear to borrow (jackets, gloves, and warm-up pants). Do yourself a favor and don't turn them down.

We will be using this company when the kids are old enough to do the zip lines either on Maui or where ever our Hawaii adventures lead us. Nice work, guys.

I hope as many people read this as possible. This is a complete rip off. You can merely reserve a spot on the National Parks website for a fraction of the cost. There was no value added and the entire time I was disappointed. As well, it is not clear who gets to bike and who does not so be warned.
