Was a beautiful lake and easy to get to. The water was extremely blue. Was really convenient hiking to with a one year old.

We drove around the lake on the Going to the Sun Road. Stop at various spots to capture the beauty. We also spotted a family of moose in one of the inlets of the lake. Amazing to see a bull, mom, and baby all together!

St. Mary Lake is beautiful, especially when the sun is shining and you're able to see all of the various blues! There are several turnoffs from the Going to the Sun Road where you'll be able to take great photos of the lake and surrounding mountains. We saw that there were tour boats on the lake, but didn't have time to investigate that this time, but next time we might enjoy a boat tour.

Covid has shut down access to much of the eastern side of the park, and that includes most of this lake, but it can be accessed from the parking area at Sun Point, which is where the Going to the Sun Road currently ends.

From the nature trail that can be accessed from the parking lot you can appreciate the beautiful reflection of the mountains on the water.

By the time you reach this lake on your eastward drive, you've climbed high into the mountains and the views just keep getting better and better. Spend plenty of time here, explore the waterfalls and hikes.
