We were sadly in Devon for a funeral and looking for a place convenient to East Devon Crematorium. Years ago we had spent a week at Tumbling Weir so booked for two nights Sunday to Tuesday. We were warned in advance about the current building work close by, so were expecting a bit of a mess. We were welcomed by Lynn on arrival and shown to our room overlooking the car park and the building work in progress .We didn't try the bar which was closed on the Sunday evening but there are some lovely pubs in the area to visit. Our en-suite room was clean and bright with a huge King sized bed, TV, Tea and Coffee making facilities and very comfortable. Tumbling Weir is reasonably priced and our breakfast cooked to perfection was sufficient and enjoyable. We would recommend a visit and if possible will return in the future.

Agreed with friends: a lucky find especially in August, the day after a BH.
Stayed two nights and delighted with the relaxed and friendly welcome. Room overlooking the lovely garden, with easily opening windows. Basic double with everything needed including a bath with shower and toiletries.
Food all home cooked and as local as possible. Had dinner both nights as many local places closed at 5pm. Very pleased with the food and service. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and nothing too much bother.
Location adjacent the park paths and easy walking into town & supermarket. Busy Oneway system in town - good private parking at the hotel cul de sac.

We had two nights here recently and cannot fault the hotel or staff. A bit difficult to find due to building work at the front, but we were not disappointed. We had a very warm welcome, were taken to our room( very unusual?), and we were provided with a lot of useful information.
The village centre is less than a ten minute walk through the park. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from.
The hotel has a beautiful garden, very peaceful and very well maintained. Our room was spotless, the bed huge, and although we had no dinners here, the breakfast was superb. The very friendly lady serving the food recommend the poached eggs, and she was absolutely spot on. Best poached eggs I’ve ever tasted!
If, or when we come back this way, we old definitely stay here again!

Recent stay on business, what a lovely hotel. The room was bright, refreshing, extremely comfortable and the bedding was of a very high quality, not something you find very often!
The staff were very friendly and the food was beautiful - looking forward to returning in the near future.

Stayed here for two nights and was entirely happy. Room 6 was perfect for me as a single traveller - cosy bedroom, comfortable double bed, nice little shower room. Cooked breakfast on both days was excellent with efficient and friendly service. Easy (free) parking. All at a reasonable B&B price. I really can’t fault the place. If you are visiting in the next few months, don’t be put off by the construction of a well-designed housing development on the approach to the hotel from the main road. Construction work is not impinging on the hotel ambience and they are courteous builders. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in the area.
