From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt like honoured guests. The Team at Settlers Drift are outstanding and nothing was too much trouble to them. The food is excellent and the game drives memorable - particularly if you have Richard as your guide. Just remember to hang on to your hat as he negotiates hairpin bends on the Reserve. We had a superb time.

We had a three day Safari at settlers drift as part of a longer holiday to South Africa with friends. It was a trip of a lifetime which was enhanced by the incredible accommodation and hospitality afforded to us by the staff at Krieger game reserve. The tented accommodation was to a very luxurious Standard with beautiful views across the game reserve. Having a bath, looking out on giraffes is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The early morning starts were cold, but we were given warm breakfast and hot water bottles to keep us smiling. Our guide Richard was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and communicated in a very lively and entertaining manner. Cannot recommend this game reserve highly enough.

Wow, wow, wow. We have just left Settlers Drift and can honestly say it’s the best hotel that I have ever stayed at in my life.
We were there for our honeymoon and had the most incredible experience.
The tents are beautifully put together, with a log fire, outdoor seating area and views overlooking the animals.
The food was exceptional!
Huge praise to Richard who was our game driver for the 3 days. There are so many incredible surprises which will take your breath away.
We saw Lions, Elephants, Cheetahs, Rhinos, Giraffes…the list is endless!
It’s a magical place and must be visited.

I write this note having just returned from Settler's Drift barely more than 48 hours ago. Back in the US now, after an interesting return from Kenton-on-Sea, I can say most positively that our stay at Kariega Park was one of the most amazing two nights of my life. We happened to first arrive on Heritage Day when we were able to deeply appreciate the importance of forefathers and ancient souls - we heard this from the young mouths of the singers and dancers. It was so heartfelt and we learned this because we asked people to talk about their lives and experiences.
The animal viewing was extraordinary but there is always context as the natural environment must be respected in its deepest roots - you don't book reservations to see certain animals...you simply appreciate them as you see them. But, when you see the full extension of a giraffe's neck or the trumpeting of an elephant, you know you have seen something you will never see at home. I remain in awe about this experience.
I strongly recommend to all to visit Kariega, but also the other amazing game parks in South Africa and, in fact, Sub-Sahara Africa. The experience should be on everyone's bucket list.

Absolutely the best thing we’ve ever done. We stayed in Settler’s Drift and it was beyond luxurious. It exceeded the wow factor in welcome, amenities, food, hospitality and of course the game drives. The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay the best experience. The room was jaw droppingly astounding in location and amenities - even better than the impression in the videos available.
Our guide was so engaging and went out of his way to find game; even entering spaces that Indiana Jones wouldn’t venture anywhere near. We saw all the big animals and had some amazing viewing experiences. Thank you Talent!
The range of food and dining experiences was carefully considered and added to the wow factor: breakfast in the bush made the food taste even nicer.
