A safari holiday with our 18 and 16 year old boys. First 3 nights at Ukhozi lodge and then 2 nights at River Lodge. Absolutely fantastic at every level from the game drives with brilliant rangers to breakfast in the bush, sun downers, river trips and boma dinners. Exceeded all expectations. Saw all the animals up close and met some lovely people. Special thanks to the rangers Ben, Nick and Allen

From driving through the reserve gates it was amazing!
All staff welcoming and very knowledgable. The reserve is beautiful and the animals are clearly well protected. The rangers had excellent knowledge.
We enjoyed the group dining with who is on your games drive. Meeting lots of new people.
The main resturant/pool area is breathtaking, food is delicious.
I would highly recommend.

Absolutely loved our time at Kariega from start to finish. It had been recommended by friends who visited a couple of years ago and we certainly weren't disappointed. Our room at Ukhozi lodge was clean, large and comfortable with a huge bed. It had a good heater which we needed as it was quite cold. From our veranda we had fantastic views across the plains and animals. On arrival, we were given a very warm welcome by our guide Rosie, who showed us to our Lodge and explained about our facilities and also how our timetable was going to work. During the course of our stay, Rosie turned out to be an exceptional ranger. Highly professional with an amazing wealth of knowledge of animals, flowers, fauna, birds etc . Her attention to detail was exceptional, she would use reference books to show us more about a particular bird or animal. She was very good at reading signals of where animals might be and she absolutely made sure we saw all we wanted to see in our time there. All four of our game drives were excellent, waterproofs, blankets and water were provided in the vehicle. The restaurant staff were all friendly and helpful and although food was plentiful, the quality could be improved. There was also a lack of information regarding check in times, this could have made clearer. The only thing we were really disappointed in was the bad customer service experienced in the shop. The member of staff at the time we visited was completely uninterested in the customers. If we had been made to feel welcome we would have been happy to have made some purchases, but the attitude really put us off. However, this aside, Kariega was a fantastic and unforgettable experience which far exceeded our expectations.

We had a fabulous stay at Kareiga and highly recommend it. The staff were friendly and helpful, our ranger Brendon was fantastic, funny and knowledgeable and we had amazing animal sightings including lions, lionesses, elephants, rhino, giraffe, zebra and hippos. The chalets are beautiful and spacious, and we enjoyed the company of fellow guests over lovely food and drinks in the common lodge area. Overall, a wonderful and memorable safari experience!

Amazing reserve to visit if not going to Kruger. Wide range of wildlife including regular sightings of 4/5 big five. Rosie was an experienced and extremely knowledgeable guide who helped make the trip so incredible. The staff in the lodge are fantastic and cant do enough for you, excellent service. Can't recommend enough.
