This cottage is a gem. We had a great time holidaying in the cottage for a week using it as a base to explore this part of Wales. We found the facilities to be excellent including the well appointed kitchen. We arrived a bit late so Burry Port seemed at that time of day to be a bit lacking in food outlets but a little exploring and some forward planning saw to that. The local Co-op supermarket is well stocked with what you need so we used it. It’s also worth mentioning that everybody we spoke to, including near neighbours we found to be friendly. We found the cottage a little difficult to find, having followed the Sat-Nav after a long journey, but just look out for the lime green window sills! Although you can’t park right outside, you can reverse down the back lane and empty/fill your car by the back door and then park in the side street (with advice from friendly neighbour). Location is just a short walk from the harbour, shops, railway station, pubs etc. Little if any noise from outside with the exception of a passing Rag and Bone man... can’t remember the last time I heard that! Nice garden to front Keep it up Richard, thanks.

Home from home, loved it
Myself daughters and our dog loved our stay at the cottage. Nothing was too much to ask Richard who was a perfect host and came around to make sure all was well. Richard has been very help before and during our stay at Burry Port. We also loved the location, 7 minutes walk to the harbour and the shops pubs etc along the way. Beautiful area lots to see and do. Looking forward to visiting again.

Fabulously cozy and characterful cottage
We spent a lovely week in this very pretty cottage. Its cozy with a log burner and efficient central heating. The kitchen was well equipped and was ideal for lots of Seasonal roasts served around a table able to seat all the family comfortably. We slept well under the luxurious duvets and enjoyed the quirky interior design aspects of the cottage. It is tastefully decorated with a great attention to detail. The welcome basket was a very generous surprise when we arrived. I would recomnend you read the details for arrival.I didnt and couldnt immediately find the cottage. It is down a pedestrian path and tucked away so is lovely and quiet. However on a dark Dec night I was grateful for help from the lovely neighbours who saw us circling a oneway system as they walked their dogs and came to direct us. Burryport is an area we know well and this cottage is very close to ammenities. It is a short walk to takeaways, cafe, pub and shops. Its close too to a lovely beach ,harbour and a lighthouse I keep photographing every visit. The beach is dog friendly too.The cottage is a great location for exploring the wider area and a lovely place to relax and unwind.

Lovely wee cottage
This cottage is a great little home-away-from-home cottage to relax and explore the local area . The house was very comfortable and cosy. For a dog-friendly place to be, it was beautifully decorated and well finished. We were two friends staying for 4 nights to explore the coast and the Brecons. The space was perfect for us, but we did wonder how two couples and a child would have manoeuvred around the lounge - you'd need to know each other well. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils & crockery, but a bit short on condiments (salt, pepper, olive oil etc). A well-stocked Co-op supermarket is within walking distance, so this isn't a problem that lingers if you haven't thought of bringing these basic supplies. Milk, sugar & tea were kindly made available as well as a complimentary packet of welsh cakes on arrival. Instructions and directions were spot on. The cottage is set back from the main road in a row of other cottages so very quiet & safe. The garden isn't attached, but just a few steps across the pavement opposite the front door, so our dog always had to be lead out to it on it's lead. We had hoped to eat out most evenings, but pubs & restaurants seemed to be few on the ground so we called in at the co-op most days to pick up supplies. We certainly recommend the cottage, but for us, we would have second thoughts about the town of Burry Port itself. Unlike the cottage, there just seemed to be no heart to it.

Hi Nikki and thanks for your review - understand your comment about Burry Port being short of places to eat but this is improving and the town is going through something of a metamorphosis at the moment with major new investment to improve harbour facilities which will inevitably have a knock on effect. Part of Burry Ports charm is the peace and quiet of the place - the fact that it is in a bit of a timewarp just nestled in with the beauty of the raw unspoilt seascape, the sleepy harbour and its miles of easily accessible golden sandy beaches. Of course, there's always room for improvement to add to Whitfords, The Cornish Arms, Coasting Pilot Hotel, Cafe Lolfa, The Ship Aground, Ashburnham Golf Club and not forgetting amazing fish and chips at Josephs!

Stylish, clean and well equipped cottage!
The cottage is lovely and is very well equipped with everything you need and even a few things you didn't think you'd need. The location is great with a 3 min walk to the harbour and only 10 mins from the fantastic Pembrey Country Park. The host, Richard, is friendly and helpful and has a good knowledge on the area so knows all the good spots to visit and beaches to lay on!

Mrs
Lovely comfortable and cosy cottage. Had everything we needed. Comfortable bed and slept well. Had a nice garden for the dog to run around and we sat out and had breskfast in the glorious weather. Nice location. Burry Port is nice enough town and we found a nice chinese takeaway and has a coop, bakers and butchers. Has a couple of pubs which we had a drink in. The harbour area is nice and the tide goes out for miles so you can have a lovely walk along the sand and my dog loved chasing his ball. No dog restrictons as not really beach but lovely anyway. Gower is within easy reach and has the most stunning beaches and most of them dog friendly which is great. Overall would reccommend the cottage and Burry Port nice location and a cosy cottage.

Hi Melany - Thankyou for your review - yes Burry Port is situated at one end of 7 miles of continuous golden sands (Cefn Sidan) - its Wales longest beach! Great you used Burry Port as a base to explore the Gower Peninsular - Pembrokeshire and the western end of the Brecon Beacons are all within similar day trip reach as well - very much hope we'll see you visit again.

Great location
The cottage is very charming and well equipped. The location is wonderful, especially for off road cycling both towards Llanelli and the other way to Pembrey park. There are plenty of attractions nearby,we went to the nature reserve in the Brecon Beacons where you could spend a whole day. Looking forward to our next visit.
