We book and have booked a lot of cottages over the years so are very familiar with what to expect of holiday rentals. This wonderful place far exceeded our expectations. Geoff and Alison are superb hosts and went over and above the call of duty to ensure our stay was all we wanted and more!
There is a lovely walk starting from the house over to a smart caravan site, we didn't go in but the clubhouse is open weekends and if you mention bank cottage you can have access. The walk there and back is about a mile and a half? Really nice.
If you are two groups there is another living room so you can have a bit of peace from each other and no fighting over rooms as they are both comfy and welcoming. The kitchen had EVERYTHING you could possibly need and there is a cupboard full of basics pasta etc. Picked apples from the trees from bottom of garden and my mum cooked 3 apple pies which were enjoyed by all.
Tesco delivered our groceries on the first night so that's handy to know and makes it so much easier if you like a bit of home cooking or heating up of course.
Spacious garden and the dogs made use of it chasing each other endlessly every morning! Met a few locals walking their dogs and we chatted and laughed with them.
The cottage is spotlessly clean and there are delightful throws everywhere to keep you cosy. I enjoyed leaving patio doors open, wrapping myself in throw, watching the world go by. FYI ....... everyone waves at you from boats which is great! I think it's like a river thing?
We could only get 5 nights this time and during this time, myself, my partner and parents totally unwound and relaxed. We have already booked for a week next July and 2 weeks in September ......... we are very much hooked on this place!
