If I’m ever back in Reykjavik, I will be staying here. The host was friendly and gave great advice. The room was clean and spacious. The fold out balcony with the mountain views was neat. Breakfast was good and had a nicer selection than other places we stayed. For a fun day excursion, visit the Geothermal Beach and the Arbaer Open Air Museum.

Thank you Hotel Laxnes for such an awesome start to our Iceland adventure. The manager was incredibly generous with his knowledge of the area, giving us more than useful tips. Our room was clean and neat and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each morning. If we visit Iceland again we will be back !!!

This was hotel #3 on our roadtrip. We chose this as a good starting point for the golden circle. The hotel is a little tired looking with an ever more tired Irish pub attached. Decore is on the grannys antique collection side. The room was more of the same but good sized, quiet and clean. It really needed new blackout shades. Breakfast was slightly less than basic, just enought to get us started, we ate luck early that day.

We had an amazing time here on our honeymoon.

This is a very cozy cottage setup. Wireless internet, very close to a bus station (literally right next to it). It’s about a 30 month bus trip from the city but it’s worth it. It’s so nice out near Mofelsbaer (hope my spelling is ok).

Great staff. Loved every minute here and if we are ever in Iceland again, we would be staying here.

We loved this small family-run hotel. The room/beds were quite comfortable. The breakfast area is lovely and the offerings were satisfying: waffles, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, cheeses, meats, jam, breads. Only minor issue was that the room was too warm. We kept the window open, which helped.

This place is perfect if you have a car and don’t want or need to stay in central Reykjavik. It was easy to find. Everyone we encountered there was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
