“Smashing half-term break in the woods”
Reviewed 1 December 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We had a tremendous break at Valley Lodge 64, it is our second visit and there have been quite a few improvements since last time ... particuarly the hot tub!

Everything we needed was in the lodge and we loved the tree-top balcony (although it was a bit late in the year for sunbathing, it must be stunning in the Summer).

We particulalry enjoyed our visits to the 'Rising Sun' pub at Gunnislake; traditionally Cornish with excellent food.

Overall a lovely quiet lodge in the Cornish countryside.

“Super house with fantastic hot tub”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed in this lodge for a week and it was like home from home. Each room was spacious, clean and everything was in very good condition. There was plenty of bed linen, towels and kitchen equipment which was great. It was an added bonus to have a hot tub right outside the master bedroom patio door! Although the complex was very quiet during our stay, we found the staff friendly and helpful. I would be happy to recommend this lodge to any group or family who are looking for a place to stay in this area.

“4 Bed Lodge with Spa Pool”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Capsulated in a carved out piece of nature with each season revealing its own story of colours and displays. All from your own vantage point of a personal swiss style balcony front. Just like the changing weather gauge of a cuckoo clock you will find yourself in and out of the topsy turvy lodge embracing the merging scenes unfold around you.
The lodge is situated in an idyllic location set back apart from its neighbours and surroundings on this exclusive Cornish estate. Giving you the best of both with an option to recluse, relax, rewind and reflect, enclosed in the tranquility of the setting. Alternatively explore and utilise the facilities that are on offer.
The concept of sleeping downstairs works well as comfort has clearly not been an after thought. Even furnishing for guests has attention for detail in all areas from beds to lighting, sofas to dining space and chairs.
A refreshing change to discover a fully equipped kitchen diner with more than enough cutlery, utensils, seating and space to accommodate the 4 bedrooms.
Residing during the low season had a charm and stillness which other than potential parking confusion in busier times, no other reason would appear this atmosphere not to be replicated in the high season.
The personal spa pool is a fun added touch and opens the accommodation to an experience, that can cater for groups looking for a well earned break or special celebration, but also the place for a longer family holiday.
Well equipped, well situated, comfortable, airy and spacious. Located in the most beautiful county of England. A wonderful place to enjoy family and friends and make shared memories. Centrally located to make the most of the west country in both Devon and Cornwall.

“Nice quiet site for a relaxing stay!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We booked a few weeks before our trip away.
The lodge has some great points and some we would point out without moaning too much.
Good points:
+ Great quiet location, peaceful and lovely views
+ Balconies were fantastic to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine and a BBQ
+ The hot tub was amazing and a real luxury
+ Recently renovated rooms, kitchen, bathroom etc

Points to highlight:
+ The beds were not that comfy. Certainly not the worst but could have done with more padding.
+ The floor upstairs creeked really badly. We have an 8 month and was tip toeing around after she had gone to bed
+ Where the sofas upstairs are sofa beds they are not as comfy to sit on.

All in all we had a great time away.
