“Fantastic Views !!”

The scenery is absolutely stunning, even from sitting inside the apartment looking out. The view itself is ever changing depending on the time of day and the weather! It was wonderful to see 2 different types of eagles within minutes of each other on one day.
The hosts, David and Jacqui and their daughters were wonderful, accommodating and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The trio of dogs Charlie, Bruno and Chico definitely liven the place up - great characters and very friendly.
We chose not to hire a car. David provided a friendly Taxi service from the airport for a very reasonable fee. He will also happily be your Taxi Service given a couple of days notice.
The apartment itself was spotless and well equipped. There are enough games in the apartment to keep a family occupied for weeks. The floor to ceiling glass doors make the most of the fantastic views. The English Sky TV and WiFi were very welcome !!
The nearest village is Comares, a beautiful little place about 725 metres above sea level, again there are stunning views wherever you look and of course a supermarket, pharmacy, bank, tourist office and bars/places to eat. Our favourite place to eat was the Mirador de la Axarquia, also known locally as the Camping Bar. Several people had recommended it and we are so glad we listened. We went several times and each time the food was excellent, with good portion sizes and great value. Service was always friendly. Stunning views from the balcony.

We understand that we are not next door to a shop, so we like to offer the good value fridge service, which is well received.
Happy to recommend places from experience and fellow guests recommendations.
Lovely to see these great guests back for a longer stay and hopefully we can get the extra point to get a 5 out of 5 next time, good to keep us on our toes.
Thank you.

“Nothing short of Excellence”

We wanted a relaxing, quite holiday with close proximity to some major cities and attractions, without being disturbed by, even in low season, the maddling crowds that the Costa del Sol welcomes annually. Spain is generally known for its mass-tourism type beach resorts, but there is a whole world of unknown beauty waiting to be explored.....

Comares, what a wonderful village to start with. It takes a good 30 minute hike up the hill to get there, but the reward is totally worth it. It is by far one of the prettiest white-washed village settings we have encountered on this trip, if not across the entire Mediterranean.

We staid 10 days in the (larger) studio. There are 3 types of rentals...the pool side studio, which seems rather small but with direct access to the pool, an apartment suitable for families as it has a separate attached bedroom, and the studio in which we were staying in.

If we had a complaint, it probably is the information provided on the website picture wise, as the studio really is FAR BETTER than we could have imagined while looking at the website. The Studio was extremely well equipped; you really do not have to bring a single thing but some clothes and a good attitude to enjoy a faultless vacation. Plenty of utensils and crockery, herbs and spices, excellent quality linens, towels, washing cloths etc. etc....the apartment was equipped like at home and tastefully decorated, with floor-to-ceiling doors with magnificent views on the mountains...Really David is not lying in his upfront emails....you probably would not find a place with a better view than this in the region.

The track....another one of our favorites....Where we could imagine why people may find it difficult to drive or uncomfortable, for us it just added up to the excitement...Be fair here....a place with such dramatic views cannot be reached from perfectly paved roads....it takes a little extra to be rewarded...and trust me, you will!

David, Jacqui and family, as well as the three dogs....Bruno, Charlie and Chico are perfect hosts....They just now the right balance between privacy and social time, most importantly they are always there to assist you with any of your questions or needs during your stay....We have travelled in many upscale resorts worldwide, but the kind of attention given by David and his Wife is impeccable, truly the kind you would expect in a 5 star + resort.

If you are looking for a place in rural Spain with magnificent pools, sense of class and details for extremely affordable rates, than do not look any further...For us Vineridge was the ultimate place and we are already looking for our second...third.....4th trip etc...Try it out, you won't be disappointed!!

--

Short: Things To Do: Malaga-1hr / Grenada-2hrs / Beach Torre del Mar-0.5hrs / Sierra Nevada Ski from November - April-2.5hrs (In April most likely only on friday-saturday-sunday...ski in the morning and eat fresh fish on the beach in the afternoon...an almost surreal experience!!) / Lots of hiking including 5 official routes around Comares....

Airport Malaga: 1 hrs. by car!

I am not sure what to say really, which is unusual for me, so I think I will pick up on the point of the website,I wish we could show the views in 3D as it would astound you all.
We are in the process this winter, when we are slightly less busy, of upgrading the websites pictures.
I think though that if this stunning review does not convince you to book then nothing will.

A great BIG thank you.

“The perfect place to get away from it all”

My girlfriend and I stayed in mid September and would strongly recommend staying here to anyone. The views from the apartment are something special, and worth waking up early for, to take in the sunrise over the Andalucian horizon.

The apartment is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, with everything you would need included.

David and Jacqui are very friendly and helpful, offering useful tips on things to do in the area (we went horseriding which was a nice way to explore the area).

There is lots to do nearby, although you will need to rent a car - probably worth arriving during the day if possible as the drive to the apartment is off road and tricky in the dark, although David kindly met us and led us up.

We love night time customers, as they are confused in regards to their surroundings and we are happy to help guide them up if need be, but then in the morning their jaws drop at the sight of the views that greet them.
As we say depending on your agenda a car is needed or not, but we can advise.
Thank you once again for a lovely review.

“Peaceful, rural and not a nightclub in sight”

We love this place! If you need to unwind, or maybe want to get off the beaten track and see rural Spain, this is the place to go.The views are spectacular, the apartment really clean, well maintained, with nice little touches to the decor. The owners are fantastic, friendly, and always on hand if needed, but never intrusive.
Well worth a visit is The Alhambra Palace in Granada. Book in advance if you want to see inside the palace, as they only let a certain number of people in each day.
Also, it's worth the trek up to Comares, and there are a couple of restaurants there too.
If you feel the need to visit a beach, Nerje is a lovely resort, very pretty.
All in all, it was a great holiday, and we are looking forward to a return visit very soon.

I think the line about no night clubs sums it up, this is the real Spain and totally unspoilt and in the majority of cases undiscovered.
Thank you for a lovely review.
