This was our first visit to the Gambia in February 2018. We had booked Musa on the basis of the reviews on this site. We left the choice of venues up to him. We booked him for four days. He took us to a variety of sites to get the broadest view of the birdlife, making alterations to his plans if we expressed an interest in a particular species. We saw lots of fabulous birds. He organised a vehicle and driver within his fee. He was on time and gave us excellent value for money. His identification skills are top notch, by calls as well as sight. He is also very good at attracting birds by mimicking their calls - e.g. he called a pearl-spotted owlet out of the depths of the branches in a tree, into the open. We wanted to book him for an extra day, but he was already booked, so he arranged for a fellow guide to take us instead. Can't fault the service.

We have just enjoyed 10 days fantastic birdwatching in Kotu and district thanks to the professional expertise of our guide, Karanta Camara, who is President of The Gambian Birdwatchers Association. He knows where to find birds, has eyes like a hawk, and a great depth of knowledge gained from nearly 20 years experience.
If you have even the slightest interest in birds book with Kamara or one of his colleagues in the Association, all accredited professionals and enthusiasts. They are located at Kotu Bridge and will take you out for a very reasonable fee. You will have a great time. We saw 194 different species!

Not a big birder myself but as a few here I like to aim to get in a few good nature photos when I can. Just got flown in by DHL a nes Cannon SLR with three lens kit for a very reasonable 350 pound deal from Curry, (old one stolen in the Big House Break In) so now I can get out and do some more. The bird men are at Kotu Bridge so you just go ask and work out a price. Kotu stream are is very close for a start off of activities. I always use Buda the Birdman, helpful friendly, UK trained RSPB and built the bird pool in our garden.

Glad to see some visitors are nature lovers also.
