Mangue Seco is a place to go where you want to be alone and enjoy the beauty. Brazil has so many places to see and this is a beautiful location. This hotels, however, are overprice for a nightly stay as well as the food. The cell service and wifi never worked.. The beach is over a 2 mile walk from any hotel. IF you want to take a dune buggy that will cost you $75-100! The sun is VERY hot and you will get burned if you don't take precautions. There are many places to stay that are right on the water that have pools and restaurants near by that have great food. BUT there are NO hotels ON the beach Find another location in Brazil such as morro de sao paulo that has excellent hotels right on the beach. THIS place is SO difficult to find and you have to walk to EVERYTHING in the hot sand. All locations are in the hot sand.

We recently had a few days spare at the end of a visit to Salvador and decided to visit Mangue Seco after reading about it online. Although it is quite far and tricky to get to, it's well worth the trip! We were seeking some peace and relaxation with beautiful scenery and Mangue Seco was perfect for this - especially as we visited during the week and outside of the holiday period.

In terms of what there is to do in Mangue Seco, there is not an enormous amount, and we found our 2-3 day stay just right, but I'm sure those happy to relax on a beach could stay much longer. It's worth doing a dune buggy ride to see the surrounding area, and you can borrow kayaks from hostels, or just lie back in a hammock and enjoy the view.

We travelled by taxi from Salvador which took around 4 hours, the final part of the journey was by boat taxi which was easy to arrange when we arrived. You can also travel by bus which is much cheaper, it's not a direct journey but probably the best option if you have enough time to do it this way.i

Amazing beach! Very natural and Big .. It's some kind far and hard to reach and you have to park your car to take a buggy .. But the buggy is a real enjoyment. We went there in a bad weather so we didn't swim but w enjoyed our time

Mangue Sec is located in the division of he states of Sergipe and Bahia, to get to the location you need to hire a driver and his buggy (a small car such as the bettle), to travel in the dunnes, wonderfull views of the ocean. It cost you from 90 t0 170 reals, expensive one provides you with a more places to go and see. There is a restaurant in front of the ocean where the drivers stop fo lunch, it is not so expensive. The trip would take approximately 3 hours, if you travel by car, you have a 30 miles in a durty road, not well taking care, and you will end up in the place called Coqueiros and from there you need the local driver.
