I recently travelled with Joyce's Ireland on a 10 day hiking trip in the Scottish Highlands and Hebrides Islands. It was my second hiking trip with Joyce and she continues to utterly impress me with her organizational skills, adaptability and variety of hiking venues.

The accommodation and food are top notch. Local guides are knowledgeable and personable. I especially like the small group (10-12 hikers) and always come away with wonderful new friends !
Joyce does her job so well - why travel with anyone else ?

We kept moving this trip and each day was an exciting adventure. The train ride from Glasgow through Glenfinnan and over the famous viaduct was fun, festive, and a chance to visit with our new group of walkers. From the train, we loaded into vans for a short ride to a country house. Wow! We were speechless as we pulled into the drive toward what had originally been built as a hunting lodge. The hosts of this historic home encouraged us to explore. And we did, from admiring art-filled rooms, relaxing over tea or wine on the terrace or in the drawing room, walking among terraced gardens and greenhouse, and hiking along a woodland path to a cave (Bonnie Prince Charlie?) and beyond to the beach. Day hikes surprised us with beautiful views of many lochs, spring blooms, wildlife, and challenging climbs to scenic overlooks. We built appetites, then savored delicious chef-prepared meals and decadent desserts. Ferry-rides took us first to a remote island, later to a large island, then a medium-size island. While tide was low, we walked across a causeway to a very small island, just to say we could. Accommodations were diverse—from historic, spacious and luxurious to understated, practical and contemporary—all exceptionally clean and comfortable, with friendly helpful staff. Our group, some already acquainted, some strangers, became friends in the few days together. We laughed, we played, we ate very well, and we kept on moving—by train, ferry, spacious and comfortable vans, and in our trusty hiking boots. For a traveler who likes to walk and to be among the best that nature has to offer while taking it all in one step at a time, this was the most magnificent trip.

I have just returned from this first ever and perfect Scotland tour by Joyce. As usual with Joyce's hikes all were in-depth connections with the beautiful wilds of western Scotland. Every day, rain or shine, after a Scottish breakfast we ventured out to many islands in the Hebrides, and into Invernesshire and the West Highland Way. Perhaps my favorite hike was the boat trip on Isle of Skye from Elgol, past seals and spectacular views to a hidden lake in the hills surrounded by amazing geological formations. Or maybe walking across the causeway at low tide to the tiny green island of Oronsay, so quiet and lovely! The 3 hotels were all perfect and offered gourmet local food every day like Venison, Haggis and salmon. It was great to have a small group of 12 interesting people to spend time with and of course Joyce and expert guide Lesley. A great trip!!!

Just back from another wonderful trip with Joyce but in Scotland this time. To say the trip was amazing is almost making it fall short. The country is beautiful but the attention to the various nuances of managing 12 people who hike were done to perfection. Joyce makes sure everyone has what they need, the accommodations are always top notch, daily hikes have options and the food is scrumptious! The group was made up of 10 people who had traveled on a trip with Joyce before and 2 people who had not. The returning people are a wonderful testimony to Joyce and her trips. Looking forward to more hiking/walking trips with Joyce

Perfection!!! This trip was amazing! Joyce took care of every detail in such a gracious way. The accommodations were excellent and the food was delicious. The hikes were challenging and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. The group was so fun and we became best friends by the end of the trip! This was my second trip with Joyce and I will do more. Don’t miss an opportunity to travel with Joyce!
