Prices have gone up in Dunboyne, and portions have reduced, i got brioche, two pieces of french toast and two pieces of streaky bacon, not exactly filling the plate. For the lemon and sugar pancakes....€9, now really! Its city centre prices!

We visited this funky café recently fro a late breakfast. The café is quite small but there is a great atmosphere, mainly due to the pleasant, attentive and super efficient staff.A big shout out to Laura,Josh and all the staff who are a credit to the place. The food is home cooked and totally delicious. There is a large selection to choose from and all is freshly prepared on the premises. As the sign over the counter says 'they don't do fast food but try to do good food as fast as they can' and this is certainly true.I had the large breakfast and it was the the best I've ever had.My partners poached eggs and bacon were also spot on.The morning we visited the café was extremely busy with people queing for tables but it was all handled in a very professional manner but the team.I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Caldwell's.I promise you will not be disappointed.

I would go here every day if it didn't make me 10lbs heavier. Audrey has such a little gem of a cafe here, the food is so unique, the house grill is the best around, and her blueberry scones are to die for. Sometimes i just go for a take away scone, they are so good. If visiting the area its definitely worth a stop in this little gem.

Good points: lovely decor, lovely staff, nice outdoor area, coffee is fab

Bad points: portions are absolutely miserable.

Nice place to go for a cup of tea and a bun but if you’re hungry, like we were, find somewhere else. Ordered a BLT and a tiny portion of BLT ingredients on a flatbread (with some godawful salad cream stuff) appeared. It was not good.

He ordered bacon and eggs... small, no toast came with it. We left really disappointed. And hungry.
